really, there are plenty of smg's better than the Uzi, hell just to name a few, UMP45, Kriss SMG, MP5, hell, even World War 2 smg's such as the MP-40, Thompson SMG, M3 SMG are atleast equal or slightly superior.
Given this design is brand new and was able to use the 30-year old Uzi as a model to copy from, of course it's better than an Uzi. That's sort of like saying a 2011 computer is better than a 1980 computer -- duh.

UZI was designed in 1948. Russian gun was designed in 90's. Its half century later.
UZI use 9x19mm Parabellum, .22 LR, .45 ACP, .41 AE. Russian use 9x18!!! and only prototype for 9x19. It’s a REAL difference in parameters of cartridges.
UZI have effective range more than 200m, russian gun - only up to 100m. The difference is twice.
UZI - proven constriction, this russian gun have no chance to be sold with UZI price, even for half of UZI price.

Standard issue internal propaganda program intended to boost national pride by always comparing to western counterparts and stating how much better Russian weaponry is. The guns are the same size, the UZI is probably heavier. They fire the same cartridge, so unless they used subsonic loads in the Russian gun, this is bullshit.
