  • an MS patient's fridge- ale, avonex, and maple sugar. and don't forget Alleve (naproxen) an hour before.

  • i take avonex and no side effect yet its only been 5 shots i was wondering how long have you been on this love april or any one how long and is it working for any one

  • Good God, woman! That shot was too long and so was the injection; I just do my Avonex injections like a dart into a dartboard (my thigh is the bullseye). After two years, I'm still having flu-like symptoms but no big deal. Luv your work

  • @wysiwyg43 I know. It was way too slow. lol I am glad you like the videos though. I am now on tysabri, which at least I don't have to be the one driving the needle! :)

  • @wysiwyg43 Eres una mujer admirable y preciosa!! y que hermosas piernas!! con todo respeto!! Te deseo lo mejor del mundo vas a estar superbien!! Jorge! palsilver@yahoo.com.mx

  • Thanks!!!!!!

  • Ouch. You are one tough girl.

  • Am I the only one who gets that drowzy sensation after injecting avonex? Anywho I wanted to ask some who have been on avonex longer (men only, sry girls :D). Has it ever happened to not "live up to the task in bed" after the avonex shot? I have huge confidence issues about my sexual performance and that's the main cause (that and masturbating twice a day for the last 3 years) but can it be that after the avonex shot, being that I was drowzy, my penis just couldn't handle the sensation and failed?

  • Thank-you for this video. My fiance has had MS for almost 18 years with occassional & minor flare ups... until 1 year ago. Long story short, he now takes Avonex. Started w/the pen injector- he told me how much it hurt and opted to take the injections manually. This week, he must have hit a nerve in his right quadricep, took it out & moved the needle 1" down the thigh. His thigh twiched again when the 1" needle was only half way in. Now he's a bit scared of the pain & muscle twiching. Any ideas?

  • I have had this twiching too. It scared the crap out of me and I flung the needle out of my leg. I think if muscle spasm is part of your MS, then it can be worse.

My only idea is to ice the leg a little before and try to relax as much as possible. Tell him not to be in the same position as when he twiched the last time. Like maybe sit with the leg slightly out, anything to help relax it a little.

Sorry I don't have more advice. I completely understand how he feels in this case.

  • OMG -- I was recently diagnosed (like 2 days ago) with Relapsing Remitting MS and I cannot tell you how much this video has helped lessen my freaking out. THANK YOU.

  • I have been on Avonex for almost a year, and i really appreciate your videos. Your personality and attitude make it easier to fight the good fight! Your awesome!

  • Thank you! It makes it easier when people like you keep up the fight with me!

    Marlo

ps- I just watched the videos you favorited on your channel. excellent choices.

  • I am getting ready to start weekly avonex injections, I appreciate your post.

    Best of luck to you!

  • Auto-Injector = Harpoon ;)

  • Yes, I just watched a video of the auto injector...Harpoon for sure!

  • Do you take vitamin D?If not you should because Vitamin D deficiency is the cause for a multitude of diseases including MS.Google"vitamin D and Multiple Sclerosis" and "Vitamin D Council".Hope it helps you: )

  • Thanks for your post. Yeah, I have taken vitamin D. there is a great deal of research pointing in that direction, and the fact that the further from the equator, the more cases of ms.

By the way, 'jizz in my pants' is my fav at the moment. I had to buy it from itunes, so that I can laugh on the train to work!

  • Yeah,I love that video.I gotta watch it atleast once a day and it cracks me up everytime.

  • Okay, you're just magnificent. I am a huge fan of Autoject that I got with the Copaxone that I take. Amazing little gadget for those with needle fears. I look forward to watching the rest of your videos. This one is fabulous. (Thanks for the outtakes. FUN!!)

  • Thank you very much. You are too kind!

The gadgets for injecting are quite good. When I used rebif I used it a couple of times and it was so easy, but then I got lazy! LOL!

I'm glad you like the out takes. I think I'll continue with them in future vids. We all need a good laugh!

  • Hi Kylie,

    LOL. cracker deluxe.

Thanks for your makeup comments! I am happy to hear that slap on loads too when you are not feeling well. haha. Dame Edna, eh? love it!

    Marlo

  • You are so crazy - I love you. Anyway - good point, don't let MS stop you, so on that note I am going to stop moping around, put my makeup on and go out! :0)Kerri

  • Hi Kerri! Thanks for your response LOL! I am completely nuts, I know. I am pleased to hear that you put your makeup on and went out! Go woman! Hope you are feeling much better and that the steroids are flushing out of you and not abused you too much (they hurt my bones. I always feel like I was kicked all over)

    Be well!

    Marlo

  • Fantastic Video! Thanks for showing us the Avonex injection. It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. Take care!!

  • Thanks! It is definitely not that bad. How are you doing? Are you deciding on therapies yet?

  • OMG @ outtakes LMAO!!! HAHAHA.

Oh yeah, I can't wait for the book :)!

  • We don't keep the MS patient in the fridge!! Well, except in Canada where MS patients are kept in 1 huge freezer for several months each year! ;)

What's the gauge on that bad boy?

    LOL Britney Spears haha!

It's not lazy (Autoinjector), it's doing it hardcore! ;)

I'm surprised that Avonex doesn't hurt, but I believe the Depo Provera needle is a similar size to that needle, and I did have that recently and can confirm that needle was not painful.

    Hugs!

  • hahaha! The bad boy is a 23 gauge, by the way. I was shcoked that it didn't hurt too, but so far so good. Glad you liked this vid! I had to put those outtakes in. I was crying laughing when I edited them.

    Big hug back!

    xx

  • Lifting lordie!! 23 gauge! ORAL MEDS PLEASE!!

  • A braver woman than I could ever be....

Why can't they discover that ice tea, or coffee or lemon pie cures MS, I would be a very willing patient then.

  • I did not like Rebif for many reasons. Thank you for showing an Avonnex shot. Good video from accross the pond!

  • greetings from across the pond! Thanks, I am glad you liked this one!

  • once again your brilliant!!!!

well done to you. I couldnt look at the neddle.
