I really hate modeling agencies. If you wear anything bigger than a 3 you are fat. I'm 5' 11". If I was a size 3 I would be in a hospital on life support. I got told by 6 different agents that I needed to go from a 9 to a 5 in a week if I wanted to be a model. I don't think modeling is worth it, and I have no respect for any modelling agent.
@3FrozenAngel3 yeah, that's what happened with me too. I was too short (5'5") not a size 3 and had some acne (they didn't want us to wear make up to the auditions)

I'm 5'7 I guess that is short for modeling standards. I'm so insecure about my body. I don't think I could pull off the extreme skinny like most models have. @maddievic2 24 - 26 inch waist and max 35 inch hips are the usual size requirements. Try it out! You never know. Plus, doll like features are very rare!

@porknbeansify Well first if it is a real agency. They should have a official website that talks about the history and who started it all, things like that. They also should be asking you to meet at one of there many agency buildings , there is probably a better word for that. But There they will ask you to bring your modeling protfolio and even some agencies have acting as well. IF they feel you could pursue acting they may give you a little script and have you read it off. I hope that helped:)

I'm 18, 5'9 115 pounds by now. I have dark brown hair halfway down my back. hazel eyes & I'm told often that I should model. I'm good with make up application, and I'm of mixed race so I have a really unique face. However, I still have a year and a half to go for these braces to start straightening my teeth :( I wish I could model for something.
@Canadiangirlagain darlin never let anything hold you back! I though thte same tign about acne, but honesty theres something unique about EVERYONE. you just have to march up and convince everyone else that Your unique face, Your braces, YOUR FEATURES are the next in thing. confidence wins over any perfections or flaws :)
Ohgod, its scary seeing comments about people paying their agencies to get signed... NEVER do that, if they ask you for money upfront, go somewhere else.

@TheShannonMontona I used to work at a modelling agency and no actual modelling agency would ever charge you for anything if they do then its a scam. It's up to the model scouts to either find you or for you to find them, they are technically making a profit out of how well you do so that is whats in it for them.

@urbabiigurl91 My company didnt charge to sighn me. I had to create my portfolio, print it and put it together myself, but they never charged me and enrollment fee. they do take a precentage of whateve gigs they book me.

I thought I was too short...But wow! Thanks for saying this. I probably won't be a model (my walk is not the strongest, and I get very insecure) but still this is really good to know that it doesn't matter your height. I always feel short (5'3).

I love to do pageants. I do about 1 or 2 a year bc i live in a sml town and there isnt alot of options.I started doing a state pageant and the director uses me in some local fashion shows but i dont get paid.I'm still in skol 10th grade) but i really want to get paid for modeling so i can climb higher up on the ladder bc i seem to be stuck doing local stuff.I took barbizon and other classes so i am trained in all types of modeling. @maddievic2 24 - 26 inch waist and max 35 inch hips are the usual size requirements. Try it out! You never know. Plus, doll like features are very rare!

i'm 13 And i'm 5'9. im a blonde with brown eyes, i have long hair and almond eyes. but i have acne. i've been using clearing stuff to try to get rid of it but all it does is peel all my skin off & it makes me look ugly. Especially in 8th grade when everyone is immature and rude. well, people have said i should be a model, but i've been so insecure and i'm scared of someone saying something about my face if i were to ever model. acne has become a huge problem in my life, and i absolutely hate it.

u make me feel like anythings possible! haha and i had a question: i recently went to chicago and was asked if i had ever thought of modeling by someone who said that they were a model scout. i wanted to start the second they asked! but I've heard about people getting scammed for money so my mom and i both talked to the "agency?" over the phone and they seemed legit. how do i know if this is the real deal or a scam?!

@porknbeansify Well first if it is a real agency. They should have a official website that talks about the history and who started it all, things like that. They also should be asking you to meet at one of there many agency buildings , there is probably a better word for that. But There they will ask you to bring your modeling protfolio and even some agencies have acting as well. IF they feel you could pursue acting they may give you a little script and have you read it off. I hope that helped:)

I'm 18, 5'9 115 pounds by now. I have dark brown hair halfway down my back. hazel eyes & I'm told often that I should model. I'm good with make up application, and I'm of mixed race so I have a really unique face. However, I still have a year and a half to go for these braces to start straightening my teeth :( I wish I could model for something.

I though thte same tign about acne, but honesty theres something unique about EVERYONE. you just have to march up and convince everyone else that Your unique face, Your braces, YOUR FEATURES are the next in thing. confidence wins over any perfections or flaws :)

@TheShannonMontona I used to work at a modelling agency and no actual modelling agency would ever charge you for anything if they do then its a scam. It's up to the model scouts to either find you or for you to find them, they are technically making a profit out of how well you do so that is whats in it for them.

Thank you for the info. I've always wanted to do modeling as a hobby because it seems so fun plus it's a great way to keep your body disciplined and prove to yourself you can accomplish something :)!

I though ti had the mst TERRIBLE acne and nobody wuld ever want to use my to sellf products/ds etc, (have you seen the "foundation routine for acne full ocverage fingertips" video? thats how my acne was:/) but anything can be done!!!!! give it a try! it cant hurt! also, your family is proabbly against slutty or sleezy modleing, the people on SAFEWAY ommercials are models! Im sure they wouldnt object to you doing that :)

@urbabiigurl91 My company didnt charge to sighn me. I had to create my portfolio, print it and put it together myself, but they never charged me and enrollment fee. they do take a precentage of whateve gigs they book me.
