I think if they came out with all of this in 70s it would all fall on deaf ears. the people simply werent ready for shit this intense back then. one thing people dont realize is that it's all a progression..without elvis and beatles paving way there would be no rolling stones, without stones and aerosmith and pink floyd there wwould be no metallica, megadeth, etc, and without those guys most of metal would be very very misunderstood and underappreciated by most....

incorrect. death metal started in 1884, and the inventors of death metal (death) hardly sold over 1,000,000 albums. iron maiden has sold close to or over 100,000,000 albums. the only death metal band from the 80s that has hit any big success is cannibal corpse (a band that i hate with a passion). death metal would be even less popular in the 80s and ESPECIALLY the 70s.
