I try and explain to my son how we could buy an album listen to it, then go see the band live hear what we heard on the album, see all the musicians playing their instruments and it sounds better live than on the album. Its all just cookie cutter music these days, I agree with some of the other comments about the longevity of the music from 60's, 70's and some, not all, of the 80's music. It;s funny my son says "hey dad so and so has got a new song" I listen then go get the original!!!!!

This is Dire Straits live in 1985 at Wembley Arena, shown on Channel 4 - touring to promote Brothers in Arms. The band almost literally had to walk across the road to perform at Live Aid! I'd been playing guitar a year then - now 26 years and counting! This concert was a major influence on me. Love it!
