Both sides don't care about children. This is politics plain and simple. Democrats want to pass a law which extends free healthcare to children in middle-class families in an effort to buy more independent votes in 2008. Plain and simple. If the Democrats wanted to they could comprimise and get SCHIP renewed so poor children wouldn't miss even a doctor's appointment. Republiucans would meet them halfway.

The Democrats would finally be able to act on their language if Bush wouldn't veto anymore bills that would hold a timetable for U. S. troop withdrawal from Iraq. In fact, Bush wouldn't listen to anybody because he just wants us to be in Iraq until 2009.
In my understanding, I believe Bush vetoed the Childhood Healthcare Insurance for low class parents because he felt that it's too expensive. It's his motive to use that darn money for this Goddarn war.

I have no problem with paying for insurance for 10 mil children. Ask Mr. Stark about the raise Congress voteed themselves, only 1 term, and they get $180,000 pension for life. They do not pay SS, they don't get it, they are millionares. That raise could have been used for those children. God bless.

Sirimsure: I will not skewer you. I would like to point out to you that the French Revolution paralleled our own. Our Constitutions, our govts., were created from the same movement. And, are very similar in nature. Liberal means Liberty, Equality, and Brotherhood; our Constitutional values. Our country was founded by liberals, who believed in some sort of socialism. That is why art.1 sec.8 of OUR Constitution gives Congress the authority to "provide" for the general welfare.

sirimsure: (part 2) There are people in our country who do not like those ideals. During the Revolutionary War they would have sided with the King of England. But right now, there are bills trying to be passed to take away the right to speak out against what I believe in. You probably care but I'll fill you in. I think homosexuality is wrong because my religion says so, but the liberals are trying to make it wrong for me to say homosexuality is wrong. Ridiculous? I think so, why...cuz it's taking away my freedom of speech.

If you think homosexuality is wrong, don't be a homosexual. If you're a "christian", it would be christlike to be kind to them. But, the christians of today, the majority of them, especially American christians, are nothing like their christ. Their "beliefs" are just a facade used to elevate their morality in their own minds.

I'm all for freedom of speech. I just don't understand why you feel the need to broadcast your personal conflict with homosexuality. Does it harm you? Does it threaten you? Just what do you hope to achieve by expressing your opinion? It will only serve to hurt people who've done nothing to you. Live and let live.
