  • Perfection,,RWB

  • Many thanks, good to know it's all appreciated!

  • Very different from the whimsical Peter and Gordon version of this song I actually have!!

  • Indeed. I have to say I prefer the slower, poignant versions.

  • A Great Orchestra to Ray Conniff; even chorus .

    A beautiful video, Sir. Thanks

  • This version was a pretty big hit on the adult standards stations back then.

  • SirBasil, thanks for this upload, but... what about other songs of this album (Somebody loves me), he, he? Can you upload for us?

  • Believe me, it's not just you...

  • Thank goodness. And I love these ballads too...

  • Ray Conniff - Pop Standards King! I just love this song - those singers are incredible. Thanks again for another great song.

  • Thanks. I must going soft in my old age, but I just love these soft, harp-swept, chorus-sung ballads.

  • I'm with you on that. I listen to my Ray Conniff CDs at least every couple of weeks and am thankful that they bring back wonderful memories - a beautiful stroll down Memory Lane.

  • these wonderful ballads are better than therapy...I seem to always have to choreograph them...I can see the dancers in my mind...

Simply beautiful...many thanks for posting... ;)

  • I see the same with my logical, scientific mind but set in early 60's Britain! Those harp strings really pull at the heart strings.

  • This will be our tribute to Senator Edward "Teddy," Kennedy...our Royal family here. He gave his life for his country and the common man!

47 years of devotion to America!!! God Bless AMERICA! And thank you Sir Basil.

  • @LaVerne37 Royal Family MY ASS !!! That murdering drunk would have been convected of a double homicide if his family hadn't bought him off the charge. "Teddy's" motto "Find them, Feel them, F--k them, FIND A BRIDGE !!!!

So do I! Well, the ones who are singing this magnificent tune could only be the Ray Conniff Singers, applauded all over the world. There there was serious work, beautiful orchestra and especially beautiful singing with no play back.

The singing was live and magnificent.

    Alce2008

  • @Alce2008 Thanks for the comment. We both must have good tastes in music!

  • @SirBasildeBrush

    Dearest,

Very glad to have received your message. I saw them live 17 times here in my country and in

Europe; only in England, three times. In fact, one thing that fascinates me is good singing, live of course. I can not tolerate play back. It is not honest.

  • @SirBasildeBrush I teach at the Catholic University of São Paulo, Brazil where I have been developing an interdisciplinary project "TO THINK AND MAKE ART" for 6 years where I try to put together four artistic manifestations: literature, opera, theatre and dance. This young generation does not have the necessary repertoire to fully understand the beauty hidden in these artistic manifestations. Poor them!

All the very best. Keep in touch.

    Claudio Picollo

    Alce 2008

  • @Alce2008 That sounds ambitious, good luck Claudio! Yes, poor them - they're missing out on something wonderful.
