The tempest is the best machine ever in the game in my opinion, providing you use it properly, i put two tempests in one sector.

The humans didn't dare attack the sector.

As far as I knew, H.G. Wells never actually laid down a design for any of the machines, preferring to let his narrative do the work. The machines from the album's incarnations were designed by Michael Trim (I believe), to go in conjunction with the album itself.

Sorry i have the same problem with the music in the pc game. :( But you can insert the cd and copy the music with the windows media player on your hard drive and hear it with the player in the background, while playing. =)
