  • I think i'm a bit late at leaving a comment but the truth is this scene was actually filmed at location in which the ship was not moving the waves were later added for effect, boats can indeed go in reverse but at this size I believe they cannot move faster than a few knots. I am a reliable source as I worked on the show and I can certainly tell you this was not an error, the effects were added on the opposite end because shooting the proper end of the boat would mean capturing the port aswell.

  • who care

  • no. this ship has a bridge with 360 degree view, it is not going astern, the "stern section" you mentioned is actually the forecastle and the waves are breaking over it which means it is heading in that direction, plus, the stern section of the ship most likely wouldnt be as streamlined as that. The ship seems to be going fast as the camera is moving backwards and the ship is heading forwards into a fast tide. digital effects dude has done nothing wrong, now do something useful with your time.

  • prison break rocks anyways

  • It is a real Ship

  • Nothong is perfect

  • Fake and gay

  • why would they bother digitally effecting the clip if they can just film them on a real boat. of course the clip isn't a mistake

  • Ummm... Who cares?

  • This video is very true and it is indeed a mistake. Boats never go backwards that fast and especially not inside the harbour! I saw it too when i watched the episode nd laughed, but that didn't make me love the show less in any way! It's the best show ever made and I wish there were 97 seasons of it, I'd watch them all..

  • glance not glans :) like what everybody make mistakes

  • Look fun tho

  • Who cares anyway?

  • There were tug boats pulling it during the scene. It was Filmed at Texas A&M Galveston, if you look above the ship while it is panning out; you will see "Texas Aggies"

  • actually, the ship isnt going backwards. its going forwards.......

.........if you pause the video at 34 secs, you will notice that ship is pointed at the front, as it should be. ships have a flat stern. the wake of the ship would be MUCH MUCH larger if it were going backwards. and the ship wouldnt be traveling as fast.

also, if you notice to the right of the video window.......the crane. those windows are for the monitoring of cargo transport.

might want to check your facts next time.

  • lol thAt's not a mistake :)

  • LOL. Have you ever been on ship? It CAN move backwards, just like car. So lame...

  • it's not a mistake, its not even cgi

  • um....isn't the ship just reversing out of the dock?

  • Lol

  • " ship can go backwards " ??? wtf idiot? when ship is in the ocean, it cant go backwards dumbass!!

  • Ur and idiot?? Ofcourser it can!! They just make the.. Propel, or that motor (U know the spinning wings) to go backwards! Then the ship moves backwards!

  • look dude it is the new system for new ship , could move every direction..

  • what episode is this i dont remember it and i saw every episode

  • the end of season 2ish when they go to panama after michael gets his ass kicked by kim and they're leaving without sara cuz she got caught by mahone

  • man, a ship has the reverse mode from fabrication, just like a car

  • its going backward.. see michael and linc are watching the dock... ur intelligent maybe ur the one who should be looking for a job.. u can remove this vid now its useless.

  • btw it makes two tout sounds that means the boat is going to go backwards for a while !!

  • A train can go backwards, a boat too :)

  • i think so...

  • who gives a shit?

  • Of course ships can go in reverse-that is part of their trials when brand-new. The ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2 could go 20 knots in reverse but she only did it during the shipyard trials. This CGI image looks like a mistake from a person who did'nt know ships. That ship is going in the wrong direction.

  • they did it for the luz but they fail

  • I have a big doubt... Can you go from Chicago to Panamá going just by the only same ship?? (I mean without taking any other transport way) O.O

  • IT IS NOT A MISTAKE

    Ships "can" go backwards.

A ship docks with it's head to the dock, right?

How do you expect the ship to move back to the ocean without going backwards?

It goes backwards a bit, and then turns, and goes forward.

BUT to turn, it must be away from the dock.

It is not going fast, the camera is going back at the same time, that's why you think it's too fast.

  • @Wegaskiller a Genius

  • @Wegaskiller .........youre forgetting that most of the power from docking comes from tug boats for ships that size. not from the ship itself. though it still has the ability to move in reverse.

  • @Wegaskiller anyway, is a mistake, they are scaping, but the ship is sailing to the coast..

  • @holaalexiafriz No its not. The wave is breaking at the far end of the ship. It is moving away from the coast.

  • its a HUGE blooper, but , the biggest misstake is that they're on the ship in the first place. you can't get onboard a ship just like that. the ISPS rules have closed all terminals from regular ppl. The fact that the ship is loading crates one by one isn't really that realistic either. that type of cargohandling almost totally died out with the containers entering the shipping industry some decades ago. wouldn't be much of a story if they got denied at the gate though...

  • linc's mate had a cabin for them

  • dude, are you one of those guys who tries to contact William Shatner to discuss technical plot holes and details about Star Trek?

    Gimme a break.

  • Ummm... There is no mistake.

Guys, a ship parks in a dock "with it's head part showing the dock" because it's going forward, right?

So, when it's leaving the dock, first, it should go backward for a while, then turn.

So, there's nothing wrong. There is no mistake.

  • plz... It goes very slowly backwards for like 1 min then turn right away.. Not full speed backwards hahahah

  • yeah it's common knowledge that all ships do that. how do you explain mostly all roro / ropax /rolo, car carriers, with aft ramps load / unload their cargo? on all tankers i've worked on we've docked alongside a pier, both with the bow pointing towards land and sometimes also out to sea. totally random. you can easily see that the ship is going backwards just looking at the ship.

  • ships cant go backwards though!!!!!!!!!!!

They do park in their docks with it's head part showing the dock but they turn!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cause ships cant go backwards

  • Ships "CAN" go backwards.

How do you expect a ship to turn while docked? It would crash to the dock!

To turn, ship must move away a little bit. For that, it should go backwards.

How don't you know that ships can go backwards? That's like being unaware of the colors on a rainbow!

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!, download movies for free mmmsearch[dot]com

  • okay thnx for this information but idc

  • The ship was the USTS Sirius, combat stores ship for the U.S. Navy. It was launched in 1966 and retired in 2005 to become a training ship for Texas A&M Maritime Academy. I was a student in the Maritime Academy when it was filmed. I even met Dominic Purcell at his trailer. The ship's engines were never turned on. It was tugged out a couple hundred feet in the bay. You have the bow and stern correct, it is going backwards. I think there is some CGI involved.

  • In the clip, right behind the bridge are painted white words "Texas Aggies" and the smokestack is painted maroon for our school colors.

  • prison break had to stop when michael and sara were on the beach at last 10 minutes of episode 22 !!!!!!!

  • So cool

  • WHO CARES!!!! JACKASS???????????

  • the dummest series ever

  • maybe u r dumb

  • The show is good so stfu

  • the only mistake is michael's death.really great mistake.

  • He doesn't die

I know what you have seen in E22

but in E23 and E24 you'll see he isn't dead.

  • reeeally!!!!???? I read on internet that, in episode 23 and 24 ,productors show us how he died....because he sacrified himself,to save sara, knowing that he had however to die for tumor.....oh my God....

  • I thought and still think that he was going back to the company doctors, and they heal them if he is going to work for the company. He accepts, but changes thoughts and fakes his own dead. And His friends are being watched or something, so they pretend like he's dead.

  • hopws there another episode if its the season finale

  • They say that there won't be a Season 5. Too bad, I just loved watching PB.

  • hey idiot, episode 23 and 24 shows what happened in between the scene on the beach and 4 years later. Episode 23-24 go back in time to show how everything played out and how he died... why dont you go and at least get your facts straight before you be a retarded fag and tell people lies

  • hey idiot? retarded fag? shut the fuck up you dirty cunt on tv i thought it said season finale. I'm sorry i don't spend my time fucking researching it on the enternet i have better things to do in a place called outside.

  • Don't talk to me like that ey. And ik wrote "I think" so I didn't say that it really was like that. So shut up!

  • hi...I have just watched episodes 23 and 24...michael dies saving sara.his death is superfluous.productors could have stopped scenes at last 10 minutes of episode 22,so fans could have been more satisfacted.they could show what happened to other characters anyway.

  • it's not a mistake. it's a sign.

  • what season is this from? 1 2 or 3?

  • two.

  • maybe they played in reverse and the ship wasnt leaveing the docks but comin into the dock just to save time cuz if it waz 2 leave the docks itll have to turn around or something...i donno thats wat i think

  • Well theres a mstake in tht 2 cnt u spell the series correctly lol 'Prison Braeak' lol

  • Good Catch??OMG You spent your time to see the mistakes Of the series?OMG You are retarded...Pr Br Are the beste series that i ever Watched...Buh...

  • so what fool

  • i thought you were looking at the front of the ship and the water coz it looks so fake. (the splashes of water)

  • lol this ship can go in two ways so...??

  • Comment removed

  • Even I have to admit, this is a huge mistake. Nice catch!

  • for me it looks quiet normal?!

  • shiiiiit, thats a huge mistake !! but keep in mind that every series or film has mistakes,i bet if there is a perfect movie!

  • So what?even is not right

there's nothing perfect in this planet!

    it's a great series...

  • thats fine! nothing is wrong!

  • dont really care

  • The ship is the USTS Texas Clipper III (well, techinically I guess it's still the Sirius) and it's our training ship at A&M Galveston's Maritime Academy (those white letters on the side say Texas Aggies). When they used the Clipper for the show, they just tugged it out like, 300 ft and brought it back.

The ship was originally built in 1966, and if I remember correctly, they used it for re-suppling navy ships.

  • You are a moron, and need to research your topic more.

It looks like a modern ship, judging by that crane I would guess a merchant ship of some kind and giving there vicinity the the main land they would require to travel in reverse, however more modern ships are created to travel in reverse by changing the shape and putting a bridge towards the rear to easily park.

    YOU = FAIL

  • LOLOLOLOLOL THAT'S FUNNY XDDD

prison break is still a great show, thought

  • LOL

  • OWNED!

  • you fucking idiot, if you judge the show by one simple scene your a fucking idiot, its one of the best shows ever created, just ask anyone who knows what tv shows is all about, so stfu

  • @Nikken11 who are you replying to?

  • I used to work on cruise ships, and so i have seen a lot of freight ships in the docks i have been to. That ship is heading the right direction, The bit labeled 'stern section' at 0:34 is actually the Fo'csle deck. The bridge is usually at the rear of the ship with a 360 degree view so that they can see better when they are docking. Admittedly, it is an odd looking ship, containers usually get stored on top, and liquids are stored at or below the waterline. so it's not a freight ship.

  • it z not a mistake dude have u ever seen a large ship? nah, i dont think so

  • lol xDD

  • there is a petition on facebook trying to stop fox from cancelling prison break search on facebook for ' save prison break' and join the group if you have a facebook

  • retard

  • you stupid fuck! almost every large ship have two in one, so the ship can doc at front, an doc at back... my granfather is a captain!

  • lol, the ship can probebly go forward and backwards(Stupid) people like you are just trying to make the series look bad ....

  • man, the Video guy Rocks best 1 evea, Made 4 seasons already perfect even if there are mistakes what u think u never made a mistake? like sleep with ur own mother?

  • This is just pathetic...

  • ZOMG ! its going the wrong way holy cat-fart, im never watching a show with such shitty digital effect mistakes,

its going in reverse genius ! -_-

  • exactly this is just a waste of time. sure it is not perfect but even scarface and the matrix had little errors

  • Fuck you man, you get a new effect's BRAIN!

  • WTF!!! Where are the waves "behind" the ship!???!?!?!? YOU FUCKING RETARD ITS GOING RIGHT WAY HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ON SHIP??

  • EVER HEARD OF REVERSE U IDIOT?!

  • no u idioti..its not the wrong directions..fuck u

  • Yeah, I'm not too bothered. And not meaning to sound like a girl, but I'm far too busy looking at Wentworth and Dominic. Gotta love Prison Break. It's such a good show, with an intricate plot, and you point out a damn boat. Hehehe. xXx

  • ditto

  • here actually does apply the fact that a numerous percentage of ships in the world do depart in reverse... so the poster of this vid is an id :D:D:D:D

  • there's nothing wrong with a ship undocking in reverse! idiot

  • Idiot!

  • who cares its really a minor thing no1 really cares

  • SAD!!

  • Dude, you do realise that there's such thing as reverse, right?

  • oh, crap. i'm sure that nobody exept you noticed the "mistake". they made some mistakes before, but it's still the biggest series to ever be.

  • That is bullshit, have you worked on the ship? Stupid vid

  • its the directors mistake that they didnt had a better ship

  • i am not sure if it is or not but...whatever

  • some ships have things that look like bridge windows at the back

  • :D cool

  • maybe it was backing out of the port :P ?

  • This is not a mistake. Depends on Harbour entry and port itself. Some large ships are moving backward in some case

  • if they were sailing forward, everyone would notice that the ship had convicts aboard. Since the ship is sailing backward, everyone is too busy to look for convicts aboard. Scofield messed up the engine with help from birds while he was still in jail. he made tools from old fingernails, so the birds had something to work with. 4 sho!

  • It's backing up! xD

  • maybe they was pulling the ship some others prisoners from the front, I'm joking. The thing is that when a ship exits or entre a seaport it will be patrold and pulled by patrol boats that's why, but ther's no patrol.

  • omg, this is funny

  • may be they reverse parking the ship :P

  • maybe their going back haha LMAO

  • what now foX???????????????

  • I'm not sure about the boat, but that's just a zoom back from helicopter. There's no digital effects involved other than probably some minor compositing and colour correction. So either the boat is going in reverse very fast or it's just designed that way.

  • captain was drunk

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!

  • Mistake Prison Braeak????????????

  • good job man

  • lol

  • this is Texas A&M Ship..they pulled the entire ship using many boats..there is no digital effect in this..

  • hahahaha

  • mayby the captian was a bit tipsy! haha!! lol

  • lol

  • hmm... Maybe a tsunami was coming :S

  • mb this ship jst wanted 2 drive bkwards...

    =\

  • maybe the ship is manuevering backward in preparation to dock at the nearby port...hehe!

  • i agree with woodybloem, even though his name shall crack me up all night!!! haha woodybloem! what a name! go prison break... woo!

  • There's a small error in episode 3 (the one where the water barrel gets knocked over). Michael is in line with McGrady...the guy distributing the water with a soup thingy puts a small amount into Michael's cup, in the next scene it appears that a miracle has happened....there is more water in the cup than it should have been. :)

  • woops!! I meant season 3. :) I just don't remember the episode number.

  • That was awesome dude! How did you notice that? how fucking big are your IQ?? :P

  • it's going the right way the 'stern section' are waves breaking at the front, why could the ship not have windows at the back... this is not a mistake

  • discuss prison break with so many fans at

    prisonbreakforum . c o . uk

    type it without the spaces

    Enjoy!

  • i never noticed tha at all xD

  • lol never seen that

  • thats really funny, i never nociced that before :]

  • I thought that this was funny the first time I saw it. Also, if you look closely at the top of the ship, you can barely read "Texas Aggies." I know this because this is the ship that I lived on for three weeks at my college.

  • hahaha yeah you're right, never noticed that.. good point ;)

  • well, i thinks thats not a digital edit, the ship is just going backwards. why would the editor make a ship sailing on the computer if its much easier to film it real. but its realy good found.

  • Thanks for spotting that!

  • dude ships can go in both directions

  • Not at that speed buddy! look at the water, it is doing 10-15 knots backwards!!

  • good point

  • WTF

  • haha cool and totally true!!!

  • maybe, but not that fast buddy

  • ships can go in both direction and the camera was going backward so it looks fast

  • But ships can go backwards...?

  • You spelled prison break wrong in the first 2seconds of your video...AND you spelled 'glance' wrong in your little discription!!

    Not so observant after all....

Maybe I'll make a mistakes video about you!!

  • i go to A&M galveston and we saw the entire process they went through. The ship actually wasnt moving at all they just pulled it away from the dock and pushed it back. As far as the "Texas Aggies" and emblem they told us they would leave it on for some free publicity.

i got both autographs and the blue hat that is used in every episode , someone stole it out of the guys trailer and they had to reshoot some scenes.

  • Haha, I love finding editing mistakes. And the Texas on the ship thing I noticed the other day, I love it!

  • No cgi was used in the shot at all, they took the Texas Clipper out in Galv Bay to shoot. But they forgot to erase the big "Texas Aggies" to the left of the bridge, as well as the A&M seal on the smokestack!

  • COOL!!

  • haha good find there

  • the ship was just.... backing up lol
