SPOILER WARNING! Yes, two of my favorite sci fi films - good comparison here. I though the end was a little abrupt? (But it is in Logan's run film also, though the book series continues on into the rebuilding of a new outside world.) Zardoz continues into their luddite future, but it seems a shame all "the knowledge of time" was lost. The challenge for us in this century is to create an ETHICAL technological utopia that won't need to be destroyed in such a way! ;-)
both of these films are brilliant sci fi masterpieces i love them both but, i love zardoz more becuase of its use of psychological metaphoric imagery.
WTF!!! i cant believe this video exists i just bought both these films on dvd an watched them, didnt even notice how similar they are in that way. this is freaky man!
nevermind.... just located it. I knew it was gerry goldsmiths straight away, and it should be obviously logans run, the thing is ive seen the film a million times and i dont remember hearing it in there anywhere.
Yup. It's not a good film unless STUFF BLOWS UP! ;-)
Actually, I like both films. Reflections on mortality and all that. I'd just like to know what John Boormann was on when he wrote the screenplay for Zardoz. And how he persuaded Sean Connery to play a scene wearing a wedding dress.
Zardoz gets slow and boring, but there are all these psychic Brit hippie women who can't seem to keep their flimsy blouses on or buttoned up, so that makes it a little more worth watching.

I think I clipped that music from the first few minutes of Logan's Run, as they slowly pan over the model of the city.

Zardoz. What a fun movie. I've not seen Logan's Run yet. If you get a chance you should check out Vegas in Space.
