All the people complaining about the ball?? Seriously. Some times that's one of the only things people can do to give thier small pets excersise. A ball is better than nothing. Better than him ignoreing the animal and keeping it in a cage. I mean. Don't you all have anything better to do than pick on people acually giving their pets attention? Pick on the vids with pets living in their on filth or something lmao.
My animals run in the bathroom. The cats are locked out. Dangerous objects are removed. then they can romp and I play with them. that's a little more effort than a ball but I'm happy and my degus too.
@alexandbros a human decides whether he goes into a ball. your degu has either not, then it is not a game but more stressful, because he does not know when and if and how he comes out.
That Degu doesn't look scared. She made a straight line for that cat... a few times. I think you all have way too much to say about what these animals do or do not like. If your little buddy was really that scared I'm sure she wold struggle every time you tried to put her in there. Ignore all these annoying know-it-all people. Let her have fun attacking your cat!

I've never heard of balls or wheels being bad for Degu's backs, in fact almost everything I've seen on degus recommends at least a wheel, and I can't imagine a ball being any worse. Guinea Pigs can't have balls certainly, but I hadn't heard about degus.
get a bigger ball and try putting both in at onece. I have a story that I heard about someone who put both their degus in a degu ball, and after they got over being trapped in a tiny ball, they started working together to steer it and attack the house cat.
