  • I've never heard a more articulate and expressive drummer. Ever.

  • Skye is such a cutie!!! :)

  • Intelligence is beautiful. Enough said.

  • @5:07 -"wut"

  • pretty stoked they touched down on Elliott Smith AND Wilco as influences.

  • They say you know and like too much. Still love em though.

  • the dude with the flip flops has pretty feet

  • like uh..um, like, you know, uh.. i think, um.. you know, uh. um, you know. uh, like... you know.

  • @taylorcurtishamilton Exactly...

  • you know, you know, you know... to the fucking infinity, what a hell is his fucking problem?

  • Robin is the fucking man....but that dude next to him simply has GOT to shut the fuck up

  • @markjlombardo Wow. Pretty harsh!

  • @markjlombardo i know right.

  • I grew a beard just to be like fleet foxes

  • @gargh well your a loser.

  • I wish Christian and Skye would speak up.

I have no idea what their personalities are because they don't say anything in any interviews!

  • The fact that they seem to be struggling with their responses actually makes them kind of endearing for me. It shows that their just normal people making good music, not wannabe philosophers. That said, I thought that Robin's comment about finding a new sound being due to luck was very insightful.

  • Are they high' lol

  • 1:37 Skye is looking at him like he's never seen him before rofl

  • booooring

  • Yeah. Agreed. Great Band, But Gosh....YAWN!

  • 1:41 thats when you become a roger waters...

  • lmao 1:16

  • you know

  • Just out of curiousity, could you guys be any more judgemental or petty?

    They're musicians, not public speakers.

  • So thats what happened to David Van Driessen.

  • HAHAHAHAHHAHA! man i love these guys, i was about to shave my beard of, but then i saw them for the first time yesterday and power to the facial flea basket!

  • i cant tell if these guys are serious trippers or not

  • robin does not do drugs, but im not sure about the rest of the group

  • Define drugs?

  • lol

  • Voted itchiest interview on youtube.

  • hahaha

  • they're gods on stage and only human in interviews but still very humble and intelligent. watching artists have to explain themselves and their work always makes me want to cut a hole in the floor for them. this band encourages me to start taking hormones so i can be a man and grow a beard.

  • ^ this started off good, but then took a sorta weird turn... hahah

  • These dudes are really great and talented musicians!! But the best thing is that they are smart and really know how to talk about music and the social aspect of music.

  • wonder if the young boy without the beard feels kinda left out because he can't grow one - they're a beardy band.. they seem pretty articulate to me - bit jet lagged maybe..

  • Skyler Skjelset is actually the same age as the lead singer, Robin Pecknold

  • In the first part of the talk he says they met in high school and have played music since, so I think he doesn't feel left out, but maybe doesn't feel the need to say much.

  • i agree

i think beard it's the MOST important thing about fleet foxes

i can imagine a near future where they just stand in front of the crowd and play with theit beards instead of playing their music

PLUS my personal experience as a listener, i'm 23 and my beard EXPLODED when i started listenting to the fleet

  • haha

  • Comment removed

  • Oh god

That hasn't happened to me yet.

If it does happen I won't be very impressed.

Maybe they should have a disclaimer on their CDs? "Caution: May cause your beard to FUCKING EXPLODE"

  • my friends and i joke that the beards are necessary for them because they bring the magic harmonies, and that's why skyler doesn't/can't have one

  • @simongreenham he's the only one that doesn't sing too. maybe there's a correlation between singing ability and facial hair.

  • @hojoslugger301 what an intriguing observation! it certainly explains justin beiber..

  • They may not be the greatest speakers, but they seem intelligent enough.

  • It's not the kings of leon you silly sausage

  • The drummer is hilarious.

And yeah, I agree, John Norris is way too fucking old for this. No amount of hair dying is going to make this appropriate!

  • Who cares how old the interviewer is, this has nothing to do with him...I think you guys are smoking too much Seattle pot to care so much about it...I guess they could have had a 22 yr old interviewer say "like and "you know" a billion times as this band does........stop hating losers and enjoy life

  • and what r u guys expecting a timerlake interview?

  • I don't see the problem. These guys seemed easy to interview, and are fairly plain and clear spoken compared to some...

  • they're not very articulate but my GOD their music is amazing!

  • i love them

  • Man I thought John Norris was dead!

  • That's what I thought, this dude is way too old for this. I remember when mtv had cool reporters. Now all they have is John Norris, from the old USA compelation CD commercials...hahahahaha. Who'se the fucking idiot who chose John Norris?

  • Take it easy on them guys. There just people that make great music. Interviews are frustrating.

  • can you say awkward?

  • It was good to hear what they had to say

but yet at the same time it was painful, "you know"

  • As mush as I LOVE Fleet Foxes, the guy in the suit jacket needs to work on his delivery.

  • These guys are so smart! I mean like that stuff J. Tillman about; how music and songwriting is all about escapism and sometimes making something horrible into a little enjoyable thing you listen to for a couple minutes, that shit is so flippin' true I can't believe it! haha.. Especially with their music. It's just smurf-tastic.

  • how eloquently spoken.

  • I think, you know, we're like ... thinking, you know, like ..., the same thing, you know.

  • he speaks! (guy in the middle)

  • Christian is my favorite. I like him too for daring to wear the flip flops!

  • move to seattle then

  • see if i could find guys this chill and mature and down to earth, i could form the band i always wanted to.

only about 10% of musicians are the least bit humble and approachable like these guys.

  • awesome interview
