It was Ken Russell who first got me into classical music with these films for the BBC. I thank God he made them, and for opening my ears to the world of classical music. A million thankyou's Ken
Apparently Nankipoo who posted most of these videos did the Japanese comments. And according to the sole reviewer on IMDb, the 2002 Russell film on Elgar is pretty bad.
Not sure I agree entirely! Maybe with Elgar and Delius bur Liszt and Tchaikovsky, no. Why does the early version have a Japanese narrator? Obviously not in the original. (I didn't know about the 2002 version.)

I really want to watch Ken Russel 's early works with BBC. Are they out on DVDs?

@livemochaable You can get some but not all of them. The KR at the BBC is fabulous.

some of the more frustrating excerpting I've ever seen. things cut off in all the wrong places.
as for Elgar-on-a-bicycle, that's just comical, not effective.
Still, Ken Russell is entertaining, at least

@calebprime give the user an A for effort and for making sure we all celebrate the joy of Elgar and Ken Russell.
