The oddity of John Young's ID VO and then Charlie Van Dyke...can't be understated. By November, though, the latter was out and the former was fully in, it seems. Plus, one of the weirdest 9s I've ever seen!
I remember WTVA 9 Tupelo news I used to live in Columbus,MS June 6,1988 to Febraury 3,1993 and December 1995 to June 1996 . but I don't watch WTVA 9 news much. I loved WCBI TV 4 news. WCBI TV 4 was better than WTVA. I haven't watch WLOV TV 27 news after I leave Columbus,MS in 1996.
They wear the current one out (I live in Starkville, at the moment, finishing my Meteorology degree at MState). It's a terribly annoying accoustic guitar-strumming ID now. It plays in every slot (during primetime) where any other station would drop a 10-second plug for "Oprah" or "Wheel Of Fortune" or the the o'clock news. (ie: just before the station returns to the network feed).
LOL at the station id.... They wore that id out " THIS IS WTVA" they would play that before every hour or so and lol it got to the point where you knew when it was coming ( I lived in Tupelo from 97 to 03 ) lolol... It had a different graphic but same voice over for the THIS IS WTVA
Wow, reminds me of my high school days! Those were the days....
