  • He teaches at George Mason University outside of Washington DC. I am very privileged to be taking private music instruction from him starting next semester.

  • Where does he teach? Beautiful technique but heart is first - important!

  • Fabulous! Bravo, bravo, bravo! Unusually clear high notes, produced with special clarity whether he starts a phrase with one cold, slides up to it in the middle of a phrase or must cram it into the middle of a high speed run. Also, his enunciation is unusually good. As much as I love Merrill, I prefer Aler's "Au Fond" with Quilico to any other rendition I have yet heard, and the reason is the unusually clear tone of Aler's high notes. He's got a special quality that deserves much more fame!

  • : ) He's my teacher too. I love being able to listen to these videos, and to see him singing these amazing things

  • Wow....excelent!

  • Eccezionale!

  • Rosa Ponselle said of John upon hearing him for the first time." He reminds me of John McCormack". John Aler is a wonderful artist with a sold vocal technique

  • He is also a wonderful teacher! I started working with him about three months ago and I love his incredibly musical approach to teaching singing.

  • Beautiful and tactical singer, plus his name makes me think of beer.

  • I had the great pleasure of collaborating with the superb tenor, John Aler in my recordings of the music of Friedrich Nietzsche. Ours was the first, and frankly the best recording of the lieder of Nietzsche. I have posted a few of the lieder on my channel. Please have a listen.

  • It is a shame that this is like one of three clips of this man on youtube. As said below, this man is really underrated ! Perfect vocal technique !

    5 stars !!!

  • And his french pronunciation is perfect ! You can understand every word..

  • This must be the most authentic example of chest voice imperceptibly blending into the chest.

He moves smoothly from tenor to contralto and back again with astonishing precision.

An d those glorious top Cs pulled out of thin air!

We can now imagine what Rubibi's top notes may have been like.

And not a single note evenly fractionally out of tune.

  • OH MY GOSH. THE LAST BIT OF IT, the scale running up, IT SOUNDS LIKE LA DONNA E MOBILE

  • except a half step higher. love rossini:)

  • Glorious! So even from top to bottom, and he never sounds taxed. 5 stars.

  • IMHO he's underrated.
