@greenyshell hey, i have a question: can I use some kind of cream during treatment with differin because it dries skin out so much? and what´s the difference between gel and cream? no one seems to know.
@eatmeable hey... since my doctor instructed me to use the gel only at night.. i usually put on some moisturizer during the day if i feel my skin is too dry and it works ok! The main diff between gel n cream is the consistency i guess.. cream has thicker consistency then gel. just google it!
ok i didnt know you werent supposed to go out in the sun and now my face has breakouts all over the place, ive only been taking this product for 3 days so is it just a coincidence that i started to break out or is it because i was in the sun?
@Ironman6464 its normal to breack out at first, and it will take some time for your acne to go away. you cant go out in the sun because you mught overdry your skinbut if your acne gets worse, its a sighn that differin is working. your skin just needs to get used to the product. no,its not a coincidence.
I use Differin, but I always end up stopping. My skin gets so dry, it burns my skin when I cry! And its just way too dry, I dont want to go to school looking like a flake! :p
i use too use differin i stopped cuz of the side effects, my skin was too dry and it always gives me peeling of the skin plus when i grin my face would burn and sting. aahhh it takes too long months? i graduate on saturday and my face is shit i dont got months to wait im gonna go back to neutragena but when i apply it it fucking burns now! even when i use a pro activ mosturizer even that burns after the regimen this product has made my skin too sensitve even in my shower it burns my face :(
This happend for about 1 and a half months and then it just stopped and became less irritated and clearer. I had really dry, sore, burning skin but I used sensitive moisturizers in the morning to prevent it
im never going to use it again, my face stinged, it was so dry and flaky that a brush of my face on my shirt left alot of dead skin on my shirt. im back to neutragena, it has success and failures on me but it doent harm my skin so thats what i will do. i also hav little patience , especially if the process is long and not effective right away.
funny how the fucking scientists can create weapons that are strong enough to blow up the entire planet but they cant make a medicine that gets rid of a red dot on the skin...
i bet there is already a cure for acne and the government doesn't want it out because alot of people would lose jobs in the companies that sell shit that doesnt even work
dont blame the govt, the scientists are to blame, they hav find the holy grail of make up technology :P im scarred, i burned my pro active kit( revenge is sweet), neutragena is next along with differin gel
damn right! shit man all the things you wrote, I feel just the same! fuck the dermatoogists all they want is to get ridiculous sums of money for prescriptions that dont work! they dont care about ppl like us. FUCK YOU I WANT MY LIFE BACK
There's a cure, it's called Accutane. 99% chance to get rid of acne for life and only 1% for the acne to come back. You're right, the government doesn't want to cure everybodys acne, if every acne person were given accutane then no one would ever need to buy OTC products. It's all about money.
Doctors say you must try many steps before putting you on accutane, make sure that you pay every penny, because they know that once you go on accutane it's the final solution, you'll never come back.
farshad, the reason doctors try many steps before giving out accutane is because it isn't a drug to mess around with. It's bascially toxic levels of vitamin A which is why you need to always have blood tests to make sure your liver isn't being ruined by it and your cholesterol isn't skyrocketing. It's dangerous and vitamin A at such high levels can cause a lot of nasty side effects.
As for accutane being a cure, acne often comes back for people after coming off acctuane if it's hormonal.
It doesn't matter that it's toxic, because you only take it for a period of time (approx 8months) and most of the sideeffects (if you get any at all) are temporary, they subside and go away complety once the cycle is over. The only side effect that everybody WILL experience, is dryness of the skin, and this is permanent in 99% of the users!
Accutane poisons the oil producing glands, meaning no more oily skin (dry skin) = impossibel to get acne.
Regardless of high hormone levels, the glands in majority of users will be put out of action for good! The receptor sites at the glands won't be able to recieve the testosterone (hormone), meaning the users will have to deal with dry skin for the rest of their lives and will have to use moisturizer.
It works extremely well. However, the side effects are minor peeling of the skin, redness, and I think some minor stinging. This is normal for the first few months (as this is a powerful medication and the skin is usually sensitive) They say to buy a moisturizer (though it cant have certain chemicals). I use baby gel. It moisturizes and I don't have to worry about chemicals.
This is magic Tube... The reason why i have Clear skin, and please don't think that i'm just saying that just because I'm being 100% real.
My skin is clear, you guys can see it in my video, Like i would get a pimple once in a while but just leave it over night and the next day the pimple is gone!
i have to say this stuff works, the problem is that i used it for 3 months then stopped because basically there was no acne anymore, but after about a month or so acne started appearing again. doctor said that should be used for 9 months non-stop, then acne should all be gone, and won't be as strong as before. but quite expensive when u have to buy the gel over again.
I have it. Every time I start using it it brings out all of your acne that was waiting to come out on your face so it sucks for a while. I'm hoping it all does away asap.
i used differin as well as mynocycline tablets every day n my acne are literally gone! thanks God

If the gel is too harsh, I'd recommend the cream based variety (0.1%).

the one thing that the ad doesnt say is that differin makes your skin looks worse before it starts making it look better.
