Hey, I like the first two Yu-Gi-Oh anime as much as next guy,but don't diss GX or 5D's. All the other four anime had something this series didn't have. The original YuGiOh introduced us to the Japanese lifestyle and it gave Yami/Atem a real reason to be called the "King of Games" as in not just Duel Monsters. Capsule Monsters, albiet nowhere near as good as any other series, made minor characters useful. GX showcased typical adolesent scenarios (albiet with mixed but typical results) but..

... the plot and character development get got during Seasons 3 and 4. And, ultimately, 5D's tackles the issues the others weren't. Such as poverty, segregation, and it introduces the first slashpairing that makes perfect sense (Jack x Carly).
