this is old as hell and probably a repost - but in the european version of the DOS game the jump was possible.

also I seem to remember being able to bug the over world on level 3 by saving and then reloading while holding the direction you wanted to travel, allowing you to pass through the buildings and barriers etc.

@pyramidhead138 Well, it's not like most people ever saw him! The DOS version of TMNT1 is literally impossible to beat without the use of a code, so it doesn't really matter how hard or easy Shredder (or any bosses/enemies after the Turtle Van part) are. :)

@pyramidhead138 Yeah, it's actually possible to beat the NES version (even without using the Game Genie). But there's this one jump in the DOS version that, due to them drawing the ceiling too low, is literally impossible to make. You have to use this clipping code to walk across the grass in the overhead area (thus completely bypassing that sewer section) to advance.

Loading that save file on your page, how the heck do you even get over the FIRST jump after you go down the ladder in that stage there? I just tried a bunch of times, but just couldn't do it even once. I just bump into the edge of the platform above you every time and either have to go back or fall in the water. Bah!

I also forget the save/load controls, or how to quit, and don't have the manual here. I do own this though. Never got past the dam level... even with saving, it was just too hard.

Was just reading your review of the DOS version of TMNT1. And that jump you couldn't get past, at one point I could get past it, no problem, but it's been years. If I remember correctly, you had to jump and attack in a certain way. I could be wrong though. It's been over 10 years. Though I still have the game on diskette somewhere.

BUT, on the Airport level, I there's an impossible jump I've never been able to get past. Unlike the one you couldn't get past, I was stuck on this one for years. It's that jump in the sewer where just near the end of it there's two conveyors (moving toward each other) with a low ceiling and lava under it. On the NES you can get past it easily. It's IMPOSSIBLE to not fall in the lava and die instantly on the PC version.

Hmmm... are you sure we're talking about the same version? I still see no way to get past that sewer area (I just pulled it out and using the weapon doesn't alter the trajectory of the jump at all), but I just played through part of the airfield level and didn't see any lava -- just spikes that aren't instant kills. In any case, the cheat codes don't protect against environmental hazards like lava and water (or some spikes, for that matter), so I must have been able to clear that jump.

Oh no, it's definitely finishable - I did it when I was about 14 or so, AND I didn't have the added luxury of keeping Donatello since I'd lost him on the stage before.

An interesting thing about the PC version; there was only one place in the entire game you could rescue captured turtles from (stage 4) but you could leave and return to find another kidnapped turtle there, and you could do this as many times as you liked!

I don't know which gap keeps being mentioned, but it's not impossible to jump at all. Unless you're talking about the gap over the rooftops, in which case you're going the wrong way.

That's correct. It's almost before you get to the boss in level 4. You don't see this jump in the NES version or any other one as far as I know. I tried for months back then and could never get passed it. Eventually I just gave up on it.
