this is no theme... its the standart ubuntu with compiz and awn (avant-window-navigator)... you should install compizconfig-settings-manager to configure compiz
the theme is called bamboo-zen. its part of a theme package. i cant recall the package name neither do i know if it (this theme)is available as a separate download.
its decent. my desktop looks almost identical to this right now
Mac is a UNIX based operating system just as Ubuntu is, honestly in my opinion Ubuntu is more reliable with performance and stability, the only downside is that it doesn't have the commercial software that Windows and Mac have, of course Linux isn't important enough to the world :'(
It also depends on your PC spec, if you haven't got a fast PC things will slow down, especially if you use recording software since they usually tend to be resource hungry.
I really like the video, I've been using Ubuntu since March 2008 and I've never looked back apart from testing Vista for about a month. I love Ubuntu and I contribute regularly on the Ubuntu forums as scouser73. The beta, which I downloaded & installed today is great but there's a slight problem with dual monitors but that's nothing that can be sorted.
I only tried Ubuntu 9.10 alpha 3.5 on it. - suspend works, - hibernate works, - keyboard light works, - sounds buttons work, - screen works, - mouse works, - track-pad works, - camera works, - cdrom works. - mic-mute button did not work - sound worked sometimes But I think it was a Ubuntu alpha problem not the Thinkpad itself.
I'm thinking about buying a ThinkPad T400s and use Ubuntu on it. How would you rate the Linux-Compatibility on it? Is it a problem to get everything work?
I also would like to use compiz - but it seems to lag a lot and not flowing well on your video. Is it just on the video or is the intel gfx card just too weak for desktop effects?
Are you able to watch DVDs with the intel gfx card without problems?
Thanks for any feedback - and please forgive my broken English. :)
linux will be the future MVP OS when they work on tweaking the UI and it looks like their already getting tarted :)

Go ubuntu !
jeroeniskoning 2 years ago
Regular ubuntu with compiz enabled and a emerald theme.
lafaspot 2 years ago
If my memory does not fail me, it's a Emerald theme named tropical, and the color adjusted to the Ubuntu Orange.

I did not try:
- the card reader.
- the finger print reader
I would say is has compatible as my ThinkPad t61p.
lafaspot 2 years ago
Everything I mention above, works out of the box. on ubuntu 9.10 alpha 3. See my other longer video, it was also done on the ThinkPad t400s.
