  • That's just rigoddamndiculous.

  • Someone likes syncopation.

  • Fucking sweet

  • somebody left their label on the guitar strings....

  • @lokeynot -__-

  • FUCKING COOL

  • So, Mattias Eklundh and Fredrik Thordendal. we could discuss for a long time who's the better guitarist, more importantly, who looks like who?

  • holy shit hes beast on drums!!!!!

  • Why is guthrie govan in the drums?

  • what a bore

  • This should have a hundred-million views

  • @Aidan6496

He is muting the higher strings with masking tape, cause he isn't playing solo's, they would just make extra noise...

  • Morgan is a monster on drums...THe guitarist is just noise

  • @SteelyDug1 Thordendal is one of the best technical guitarists that exist at the moment. Learn to respect people who stand miles above you.

  • @Premoguys And you should learn to respect your superiors that you know nothing about on an internet posting board! What a child...

  • @SteelyDug1 If you knew anything about him, you would know that meshuggahs musical skill borders on genius.

  • @SteelyDug1 LOL!

  • Almost dying from the wait for SDFX2.

  • cuz we all got a little soul nigger in us

  • 3:00 all hell break loose

  • this is more than a fuc... "NICE" the album is a master piece weono !

  • They look kinda like vikings...

  • @ultraviolence6655321 That's because they're Norse Gods

  • All these riffs are on that album and he definitely uses a 7-string.

  • I can understand that this is a jam derived from Sol Niger Within, but, some of the riffs i've heard from this I don't recall hearing on the album. Also, the fact that all of the riffs flow freely and evenly within eachother is astounding

  • This makes me cream my pants every time

  • I like the description: For drummers and guitarists. I as a bassist couldn't possibly enjoy this, it's way over my head. Ha. For reals though, I've watched this video way too many times, absolutely mindblowing. Check out Morgan's work with the Mats/Morgan band, some of the nuttiest prog rock out there.

  • The ghost notes are orgasmic.

  • Fredrick is missing a string :O

  • @YoYoHall Nope-he used 7 strings on the album, unless one of the strings on this guitar is broken... :/

  • yes, finally learned how to play the whole thing! i had to literally watch him and count off the beats on the last part

  • @Transfixion Film it, I'd like to see it! I'd like to see some covers of this!

  • @Transfixion Vid or it didnt happen!! :D

  • @bkordel Yea yea I know I'm workin on buying a webcam. I need windows movie maker too I think

  • @Transfixion awesome man, cant wait to see it. by the way, windows movie maker comes with the latest "windows live essentials pack"

  • @Toxin08 o hi troll :3

  • @Toxin08 u dont know what r u talking about ... this is polimetrics r what ever u call it in english. its difficult ...u have to be very good to do that kind of stuff

  • @Toxin08 u dont know what r u talking about ... this is polimetrics r what ever u call it in english. its difficult ...u have to be very good to do that kind of stuff

if they were hitting it randomly how would they know where is the first note that they have to ley on .

  • ...oh man...master...

  • its the white snoop dogg

  • They gotta make a sequel together. Except with an 8 string guitar

  • lol, at the end it stands "dagens övning" which means "todays lesson", didnt notice at first.

  • 1:32 - 2:43 (EPIC PART.)

The whole song is epic too.. lol.

  • you disliked this??? Do you know what a drum kit is??/ Do you know what Morgan Agren can do??////?//,

  • this shits fuckin bad as fuck, definitely good to kill to

  • This still blows my mind, and they are doing another album!

  • This is tight as fuck but you gotta imagine how much more of a kick in the balls it would be with a bass. \m/

  • After watching this video, I just realized that FREDRIK IS PICKING W/T HIS FINGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the name of the father, the son, and the holy Thordendal!

  • Comment removed

  • @Floorsnarl

    He is using a pick.

  • @Floorsnarl

    You're idiot, he's using a pick

  • props to fredrick for keeping up with morgan lol

  • the drummer is ridiculous

  • I am listening to this at least twice a day . . almost impossible . . Special Defects forever !

  • this is honestly the coolest thing i've ever seen.

  • DUDE THATS TOKI WARTOOTH!!!! LOL!!!

  • I love and support ALL metal bands, I just love the music..some bands I like better than others but when you see a band like Meshuggah you know your in the company of greatness

  • 1:07 Fredrik is happy :D

  • Toki FTW!

  • well done toki

    :D

  • @mvfasolfasoo Hate to burst your bubble, but Toki was inspired by Akerfeldt. :P

  • @XxSharkBatexX sure it is, bubble burster

    ;)

  • @mvfasolfasoo hahahah toki!

  • WTF!! Thornendal´s destroy!!

  • Agren must be so happy that he and Thordendal kept it together through all of those changes in meter and tempo

  • @Skoojoo Actually there's no change at all most of the time ! I'd say that only the part from 2:43 to 4:00 is in 9/4, but everything else is in 4/4 moreover by groups of 4 or 8 bars. But it's true the rhythm is confusing !

And although the tempo does fluctuate, it does not really "change" ;)

  • @ugoslide just like in meshuggah.

  • @ugoslide True! The trick for me playing this stuff is just counting it out loud in the beginning and then it just flows out of my guitar :p

  • @ugoslide I'm counting 3/4 during that part!

  • @ugoslide you're crazy...I count 4/4 9/8 3/4 and 6/4 and I don't even know what's going on in the first part...probably some compound time but i'm not sure.

  • @forgedinmetal666 the first note is moved half step .its all 4/4 with acentation moving around its not always the first note that they ly on . sorry for bad english writting :) i play batter than i write :) have a good day

  • Fredrik"s guitar tone is superb!

  • 2:18 drum solo = jaw drops

  • why can't I stop watching this video? At least every week for the last 3 months now. Where can I get this album??

  • I think you have to buy the mp3 album

  • found it. you can get it on Morgan Agren's website. Had to mail order it from Sweden but its blatantly gonna be worth it!

  • @mrrouel- I too watch this video constantly, In the morning, on my lunch break, when I get home and before I go to bed.

  • Insane!

  • I don't really like the comparisons between drummers. It's mostly in feel and setup; for drummers of this level, what they exactly play doesn't really say much about their skill other than that they can do *this* too. Both could probably do Far Beyond Driven as well as they could do Assorted Boring Chamber Musics Vol. 4.

  • Morgan Ågren has played with Frank Zappa. That says it all dosent it?

  • @glogglaa totally yes

  • Fucking awesome!

  • i think morgan displays the most virtuosity out of any drummer i have ever seen hes just off the chain

  • Morgan Agren is originally a jazz drummer.. If you compare him and Thomas then you are stupid!

Thomas is a math/death metal drummer who is fucking fast but Morgan has this beat in EVERYTHING FUCKING thing he playes! He mixes his bass and his snare to this impossible-sounding beat...!

  • aye he has a very jazzy sound to everything he plays

  • Tomas Haake's technicality is still way over the top for this guy! This guy is amazing too tho.......

  • I'd say it's the other way around... but sure, they are both great drummers...

  • Awesomeness, quite some talent in that Swedish drummer, Tomas Haake should watch out keeping his spot in Meshuggah ;)

  • jesus christ

  • Wow, one thing I noticed was that you "you-tube" veiwers sure cleaned up your acts since Iast sen this video. It still kicks!

  • No its Morgan Ågren

  • huahuahuahauhau you're right!

  • it is morgan agren

  • this video is already abundant on youtube

    and its not morgan gren...

  • And yes, its MORGAN AGREN...

  • The vid is even from a show called "drumming with Morgan Ågren" that played on swedish television some ten years back or so...
