Maiden wrote and dedicated this song about the Sand Creek Massacre in Montana in 1864. This was to honor them. Iron Maiden, whom are from England, know more about the U.S. history than most people whom listen to them. Thank you for this coverering this song and your own tribute.
@63SemperFi Really :)? I hope you were ironic. Calling people savages is a way to degrade them, and that way give yourself the right to mistreat and outroot them. Has happened, continues to happen, and will continue to happen, all over the world.
Im an American Indian and i think that the best thing about this song is the tempo change in the (original) maiden version, that kicks a fucking arse or two! This version is as boring as fuck and id like to see you hellsongs pussies leave metal songs alone and concentrate on going and fucking yourselves.
@stickiwee Why don't you go fuck yourself? You're the kind of annoying ass metal head that I can't stand who thinks that metal is better than anything ever. This version is beautiful and it's just as good as the original. If you like the original better, that's fine but at least respect them as musicians instead of just calling them pussies just because they don't play metal
@alwaysauthentic1 "Money is the worst currency that ever grew among mankind. This sacks cities, this drives men from their homes, this teaches and corrupts the worthiest minds to turn base deeds."
brilliant- the Indians story can be applied to so many other races across ALL the globe that have suffered similarly... although the native Amercans story is a great tragedy
I'm Native american, pure Miccosukee. I'm a little surprised at the composition, because I was expecting metal, but it was put together very well. Great Job, and Many Blessings to you!
Seriously, Hellsongs' version of such a classic is actually very good, and, in fact, quite emotional… I am happy there still are artists out there who love music more than money and good publicity. This is art!
3:32, he inspires me to be strong and have faith. I hope one day white man will understand the way to get relation with our mother Earth. 'Till then, I'll follow my fight...
The native american people had their chance to defend themselves. What resulted was a war between two peoples. The American settlers were united in their war effort while the native american tribes could not end their bickering despite their strength in numbers and their knowedge of the land they were defending. It is a tragedy that they were defeated, but every country ever founded was done so by the blood shed of the idigenous peoples there.
The song and video work wonderful together. What an outstanding version as opposed to some band aiming for note for note perfection in a cover. This song is an amazing pull on emotion, the original induces anger and this, pure sadness. Nothing wrong with either, both dripping in artistic expression.
my selph being a chrischen i think if the whight man had not come god still wouled have got his weared out but if the wight mad had not come i as a metis wouled not be here
I get the point of this cover genre, but it doesn't change the fact that Hellsongs completely suck the life out of some of the hardest, most iconic rock songs and pussify them into hymns that even James Taylor would call soft and lame. Although this song does have somewhat of a draw to being played soft and somber, it's got the undertone of white guilt lurking about. Yechhh.
thanks for sharing this one, comes down to who had rifles, horses and the supply lines...poor bloody Indians didn't have a hope in hell, and there's a lesson of history for USA now, don't drop your gaurd, cause the World's about to get real nasty.

wow. how ignorant these people posting comments are. living up to they're stereotypes. by being stereotypical themselves! haha... oh well i forgive them, kill them with kindness, get me angry but i wont sink down to the dirt like they do on a daily basis i see. i agree not really a good cover. love the iron maiden one!
No tears nor any guilt from this white man. This basically this is another form of white guilt, and now look how they are they are on reservations and they get drunk and spend tax payers money haha suuuuuuuuuuuuuch a great people right? fuck this
They were a great people and this is what has become of them due to europe style imperialism. Pretty much most cultures that were deemed primitive were generally doing just fine until europe influence over them. Just about every culture they touched they have forever damaged.
Honestly, it's a nice change, a good cover! But it's just not in my range of taste for music. I'm not tryin to start a fight, just saying it's good. :)
exactly... but people who are blinded by sterotypes wont see those ones... they choose not to. they see the ones who arent jsut a bunch of welfare colelctors and drunks.. im a aboriginal myself and i recognize it. but it doesnt mean i have hate towards it. thats theyre life theyre decision. theres alot out there who are still traditional and they have jobs and are educators and so forth. people dont see it though.

@Artinnanen Lol we are still here :) Thanks for the kind words they are much appreciated. Native americans as we like to be called run most of North america (Canada) There is about 75% native americans compared to white men but that doesn't mean we want to hurt them we are all about peace. Which is why We as a people let it happen :)
Of course Iron Maiden's is the original and of course its better. You don't have to post it! This is an interpretation! And its a pretty good one. Sounds different but you at least know they understood the original.
They are all gone. Gone are the hills and steps and the buffaloes. Just memories, and the memories are old. Eyes see, ear hears the hunter proudly speaks of his escapades. Hidden fireplaces in the grass where hunters laid to rest and spoke about day to come. Little did they know that that they all would be gone, gone with mother tounge and playing around tents, gone with grandpas stories around fireplace. Sad isent it that God sent white man to destroy many people.
Wow. This is great. Somehow better than Maiden's. Who did this? I always thought it was strange that Maiden did that song. British metal band singing about what it is to be Native american. How strange is that?

wow, a happy version of run to the hills, so happy that the white men are killing and raping ... they must not know english and understand the words... ( ?? ) this means a question.. are you going to the store? and Timber!!!they must not know grammer either.. take up some peotry classes, it will help you understand the power of words and how to effectivly use grammer to convey a mood or feeling...
You dumb idiot. Can't you hear a sad song when you hear it? Iron Maiden made an optimistic sounding song, while this sounded very poetic and epic.... you are so damn dumb in your head.
This video shows the plight of the natives in North America, and the fact the the song is soft it does not take away from the message. The pictures that this video is made of come from Edward S. Curtis. He recorded a Brief history of the North American Indian from the late 1800' to early 1900's. His pictures are some of most incredible visions of natives and their lives and culture.
... My bass player is full blooded Idian... I dont ahve any problems with the pictures... but the Cover of the song... and still feel the same, !!! ??? ... grammer and expression go hand in hand. A happy, but lame cover...my friend... ouch!!!
WHAT! :|, this is the worst thing i ever heard! do you have got something in your ears maybe? i can't believe you actually think this is beatiful... they are just song killers....
as a cover.. it is so terrible =(.... but its a good work with a nice sound.... umm... I prefer Iron Maiden xD hehe.. but i like this song... greetings from argentina!! =)!

wow, a happy version of run to the hills, so happy that the white men are killing and raping ... they must not know english and understand the words... ( ?? ) this means a question.. are you going to the store? and Timber!!!they must not know grammer either.. take up some peotry classes, it will help you understand the power of words and how to effectivly use grammer to convey a mood or feeling...
