This has to have the best messages in all of Pixar shorts. It doesn't matter your color; life has ups and downs; changes come and you need to embrace them; etc. I think its utterly brilliant and executed in the Pixar way.

Some people have stated that this short is a political statement on learning to live with taxes as a wealthy individual or learning to live with getting what makes you above average taken away from you by a society of mediocrity. I can see where that could come from, but that seems to be nothing more than looking way too into it.

The message to me is that you shouldn't let the downs in life take control of you.
