  • For one month I try to convince myself to read Absolution Gap but and I can't... all the other characters are boring and flat.

    Sorry for honesty.

Triumvir shall be resurrected. That's my opinion.

  • I'm reading Revelation Space now and... it's completely amazing. ..a masterpiece.

I've never read something like this before.

  • i love his books! big fan! favorite two have to be Pushing Ice and House of Suns :D

  • this brings back memories :) i was there in almost all of his talks missed the sunday ones due to foodpoisoning -_-

  • I picked up "Century Rain" almost unconsciously a few days ago and now I can't put it down.

  • Great writer, loved everything so far with the possible exception of "Terminal World".

  • @drgonzo163 - I totally agree - The steam punk topic did not suit Reynolds style - I have enjoyed every single other book that he has written including his short stories (i have the entire collection). After waiting for 2 years for Terminal World to be released, the book was distressingly poor, and i was left unimpressed. He should stick to the far future sci-fi storylines where, in my opinion he excells.

  • @skyvader15 Not nearly that bad, it just wasn't anywhere damn near close to done when it finished.

  • One day he passed through Lyon, my city, it would be really great.

  • i love "pushing ice". ive read all his books and that's my favourite yet.

  • About to finish The Prefect... awesome! I've read the other four main books of revelation spaces and The Prefect is as great as the others if not better... thanks Al!

  • He is such a nice person. So modest too. I met him in boskone and had a blast.

  • Redemption Ark was the best. The Conjoined Faction.

  • revelation space is sublime and i'm glad he wrote more set in that universe, but the subsequent plots are excellent but not on same level as revelation. he must have enough money and power not to appease the publishers and have to churn out more of ilk. he can do if he wants ,i lap them up, but he's not pushing himself anymore, you can tell he spent years on the first one, then 6mths a piece on the others. i've bought 6 of his novels and i've only bought 10 novels in total, rest from library

  • I think he is pushing himself just as hard, but now he has a rythm you know, just comes to him much quicker. :D

  • God damn it, I missed the "Journey into Space"- panel. Oh well. I'd like to thank Cheryl Morgan for "taping" this interview and just wanted to say, that thanks to Finncon, I've just bought my first Alastair Reynolds' novel, "Revelation Space". If the Finncon program leaflet's short story is any indication, I think that I'm really going to enjoy it.

  • thanx for posting. Reynolds is my favorite hard science fiction writers
