@Rileyroachable I know alot of people don't wear combat patches unless they are in garrison. Especially when you don't want to get the only one you have dirty...
@Badgerbitesback yeah, they havent used those black combat boots in a WHILE, theyre considered vintage, i still do hikes in them though with my ALICE pack haha, call me old fashion.
You maggots have been misinformed, to believe that there is honour and glory in killing your fellow man, do you understand me privates!? There is no glory, there is no honour, only shame in such actions and by god if you maggots don't understand this fundamental basic of human nature, then you have proven my point already. You are not a part of the human race but the product of something or another bestial mating with your respective mothers do I make myself clear privates!?
@lovestospoodge1 theres really no way to get failure to adapt as long as you personally want to stay in the army and are willing to work for it. No one gets to ait remembering everything they were taught in basic. Some people have a brain dump right after basic. But there is always an nco willing to fill in any missing gaps (even if its for the wrong reason). Don't give people the wrong idea about the army, am not saying your training wasn't crappy.
I'd expect to see my DS in this competition. Good ol' DS Jackson. He got Distinguished DS of the cycle when I was at Benning. He was one high speed DS
I have never seen a DS without combat patches but, all of my DS were Infantry...
However, I would give them the benefit of the doubt and just assume that all of the DS there without patches just didn't wear them to the competition.
Depends. They may have been "lucky" and got MFO or IFOR/KFOR or Korea assignments that gave them great operational experience, without actually getting to earn a combat patch. I have a buddy with more deployment time than time home, and they have all been MFO, KFOR and one trip to Guana. No patch, yet he knows his stuff.
@1776iscoming ... Thats funny. Cause I,d be embarrassed to wear a combat patch just cause I went to Kuwait or UAE.. Let alone be a FOBBIT! Should change the name to deployment patch instead of combat patch. Save combat patch for those that actually see COMBAT!
Call it whatever you want,no unit can function without the supply guys, weapons repairers, whatever. I've known people that put their DS packet in to escape deployments. I'd be embarrassed.
@ladder4cman1 as a mechanic, i've seen more combat than most people. not many people can say they were attacked while recovering a vehicle. not many people can say they used a saw on a bongo truck of insurgents.
haha o yea so you took the easy way out and joined the army huh? lol jk. I jus graduated bootcamp for the marine corps in april. pretty crazy, just started soi.
A SFC with no combat patch in the reserve? Snicker.

i went to ft. knox one winter.
recieved really bad and unorthodox training.
we never pt'd
we did stupid, pointless smoking sessions.
never learned shit...
and eventually got discharged along with alot
of us from the same tradoc company.
because all of us we're incompetent in alot of things we should had mastered
by AIT. Failure to Adapt my ass. Failure to train soldiers properly.
i wish it had never happened.
