  • r u fukin kidding me ?

  • They haven't even driven it at much more than 400mph, and it's been designed for 1300km/h or 808mph as its target speed.

  • I believe this design was a lost call.

  • Doesnt look HD to me

  • Is chopping the wings off a 50-year old aircraft really the cutting edge of technology?

  • I suppose everyone has to have a dream but this thing looks like a one way ticket to the morgue.

  • bloodhound for the win! :D hehe

  • Sonicwind•com

    Capable of 2000mph.

    XLR-99:

    Pure Rocket Power-

    equivalent to a MILLION HP!

    GO WALDO!

"Anything that is capable of 2000mph

should have no problem with 1000mph..."

  • @3:29

    Rocket car?

    This is a JET car.

The Blue Flame was the only true

Rocket Car to hold the record.

The Wingfoot Express was powered by JATO's.

    Commuting at 7-800mph?

    Shoot,

America would be doing good to just turn the "Montana-bahn" back on...

  • Wait wait wait...... So how fast has this car gone so far? If its not the fastest car ever and hasent done 900 mph yet then its probly not a good idea to use that as the caption of the video.......

  • heroic FAIL! Leave it to the Brits to show you how it SHOULD be done.

  • This car had its first runs in 2004 where claims of 400mph were claimed but not verified. The car must be 7 or 8 years old now, time to scrap the old jalopy, its got no more chance of mach1 than my Ford

  • I am quite surprised and disappointed that the USA really has not got behind this project and given it the boost it requires.

It has some interesting design features, not least of which is the electro magnetic brakes which are an inspired solution.

C'mon America, lets have a race to the Land Speed Record!

  • @yianni1071 I agree with you 1000%!!

The Bud rocket car had major sponcership and help from the Airforce.

Time to bring the record back home.

  • @CSXer The Bud Rocket car never held any record.

  • @yianni1071 These sorts of things always benefit from competition. There was an unofficial competition of sorts in 1997 too.

Wouldn't hurt for that situation to exist again.

  • I dont think this will work its fuslage shape is for flight the ground effect is going to make this very unstable

  • @trackend1 Agreed. The nose works well for an aircraft but it will not work well for a land vehicle.

Shockwave formation was a amjor consideration for the Thrust SSC project, which is why the nose of that vehicle was so close to the ground. Even then, shockwave formation resulted in reduced stability and even loosed panels.

  • The commentary on this is ridiculous....

  • Who else has built wheels capable of turning at 900mph?

Thrust SSC did it years ago.

  • @Camerameister ummm no.. they simulated it on a computer .. the brits are not that smart...

  • @boduzapho Yeah, right... Tell that to Craig Breedlove.

  • @Camerameister only went 700+ dude. sorry

  • @IpodsNightmare Went 763 but thge wheels were well capable of more than that.

    Dude.

  • @IpodsNightmare By the way, I suggest you do a search for Bloodhound SSC.

  • @Camerameister That's because people from the USA only know things that are from USA.

  • The 763 tail number has gotta be the best coincidence in the history of coincidences.

  • how many Gs

  • fred has more views than this? same with justin bieber?
