Vice grips work the same, but better since you can get the adjustment just right, then just squeeze down once for a perfect crack.

I got that about 15 years ago as a christmas gift. I think it came from a Knife shop. You might be able to find them online. Try searching for "ratchet nut cracker", I am sure you will find a couple of online stores that sel them. Thanks Chuck.
