  • well done, truely jaw dropping

  • wow ...cool , ty !

  • what zoom?

  • @t4rs It's approximately equivalent to 274x magnification

  • Nice capture man! I have a difficult time tracking it with my 12.5" Dob.

  • Maybe if the misinformed plebs who gave it thumbs down actually realised how hard it is to even film something from the ground that's orbiting us at more that 17000mph, never mind tracking it, they might rethink their opinions.

  • @johnalexwarren Well, incredibly some of them apparently think it's a "fake." I intentionally uploaded the original video, tracking mistakes and all, to show that it isn't fake, but some people will never be satisfied. Then again, it's kind of a compliment when you think about it; it's so good they can't believe it exists.

  • Samsung SDC-435

    678x494 pix

    1/3” Super HAD CCD

    S/N 52dB (for Y signal)

    Sens. 0.05Lux

    Video Output: Composite

  • This is a great video!

  • What a poorly manufactured fake.

  • Flat Earth society brought me here yet they still believe the Earth is flat. WHAT AN ENORMOUS FAIL.

  • proof that the earth is flat lol flat earthers fail

  • ATS rulz

  • 1:31 looks like an airplane

  • Wow, this is great!

I had seen Discovery on STS-133 mission through my binocular, soon after undocking. There were two stars on light evening skies — bright white ISS and dim orange Discovery — about 1° from each other. I'm very glad I had a chance to see a real Shuttle, even from hudred miles (which makes it even more significant).

Greetings from Russia, NASA, you made something really awesome, and you keep doing it!

  • Impresionante! felicitaciones

  • Awesome Footage!

  • the rednecks and retards on ATS forum will claim this is photographic proof of UFO's

  • WOW that's a terrific view! I was lucky enough to have a clear sky a few years back when the ISS passed overhead while one of the shuttles was departing. It was at night though so all I saw was two really bright lights slowly moving away from each other :)

  • Awesome!

  • Great Job..! I have been wanting to do this myself. "Just for Grins". If you don't mind i think I'll celebrate with you and allow myself to move on to another fun project. Considering priorities not with standing plus completion rates on unfinished projects. It's real (ality) wise to share a brew with you on your success. Besides I'm grinning ear to ear. Good Eye..! Thanks for sharing.

  • it looks like a mosquito lmao

  • Wow, the # of viewers: 17,500 --that's same speed they are going!

  • Awesome...

  • That's no moon....

  • There. You went and broke my brain. Happy now?

  • wow that's amazing

  • WOW! Are you serious?!?! Nice job on this vid!

  • Incredible!

  • After about 1:25, it starts to look like Captain Forever.

    (Awesome video by the way!)

  • America, please, less wars, more space!

Let's all join forces and go to Mars :)

  • That is what the aliens will see when we arrive.

  • Sweet

  • i have no words to say :O

  • Phil Plait sent me here :)

  • @FORGODSAKEIDONTKNOW Same here *high five*

  • Very nice. Thanks. I wonder if running this through some "anti shake" software would improve the view?

  • Why is some Joe Blow in his back yard (no offense) can get footage like this, but major television stations don't?

  • @killboydotcom

Its because television stations don't look for this sort of thing and the media are a minority so the average Joe is likely to find this sort of thing more often.

  • Way too cool! Definitely passing this one on!

  • Nice! Love to see a picture of your photo rig.

  • @cliprepository so you want to see a picture of the thing that takes the pictures? lol : )

  • awesome..just awesome!! thanks :))

  • Nice work!

  • Nice. What direction was it heading? Linked on Ground Zero Media

  • this is awesome. i always try to look for moving satellites at night with the naked eye (not even sure if its possible to see them with out a telescope)

is it possible to see the ISS with the naked eye if the sky is clear enough? (day or night)

  • @euroaaRON1 Night time, definitely. ISS is incredibly bright, and even when the shuttle's a pretty bright object by itself since it's mostly white. During the day? Theoretically yes for ISS. I've never observed it during the day by eye, but it should be like observing Venus during the day except that here "Venus" is moving like a bat outta hell. For this morning's pass I had a blanket over my head to cut down on the glare on screen, so I couldn't have seen it even if it were obvious by eye.

  • @euroaaRON1 With binoculars you'll be able to make out the solar arrays and see different colors, at least at night. Probably during the day as well if you can find it.

  • @euroaaRON1 check out twisst on twitter & it will take your exact coordinates and tweet you a message whenever the ISS passes over your area. I make all my friends and family gather in the culdesac to watch it pass

  • @euroaaRON1 Yes It Is. Go To NASA.gov And You Can Get The Sighting Times For Your Area. That's How I See Here.

  • Never seen a daylight shot of the ISS before! Very nice work. Very impressed.

  • who-all came here from above top secret? (now youtube will know :-O

  • @kowalityjesus No ATS here, what are you nuts.

  • @kowalityjesus Yeah and at least here you can say "Thats fucking sweet dude!" and not have some arsehole with an ego post ban you.

    fuck ats.

  • fantastic work!

  • Cool video. Nice capture for sure. Cheer from glp.

  • What ultra moron gave this a thumbs down????

Great footage sir, wonderful! Thank you for upload.

  • What equipment etc were you using?

  • @SiYidarmy 8" LX200 Classic Schmidt-Cassegrain, a modified Samsung SDC-435, Brent Boshart's Satellite Tracker software, and I was using a Meade LPI attached to the viewfinder to refine the tracking at the computer (dual camera setup). To save on overhead I only record the main camera view (the viewfinder only sees a dot anyway).

  • @messierhunter i'm simply envious.

    :)

  • I never thought anyone would be able to do this with a regular camera. I wish I got to see something like this. This is a once in a lifetime thing. Great job and you are very lucky to have shot this video.

  • Wow...That be a long way up. From about 1:25 through the end I swear I could see them waving at me. lol Very cool and thanks.

  • Wow that's AWESOME! Great job!

  • Super amazing! How did you do it?

  • @ParaglidingManiac Read the description.

  • Wow you did here a AMAZING job!!! SUPER !!!

  • Awesome timing and capture of something that will never been seen again...
