I remember rushing home from school everyday to watch this, 1980 I was 8 and my family didn't have a color TV so I had to watch the Iscandar series in Black & White. However by the time the 2nd season started my father had finally bought one. Let me tell you how cool it was to see this in color at the time. It was also the very first show I had ever seen in color as well. Good times!
i was about 8 or 9 when this came on in Canada. I loved the Iscandar series, the Comet Empire. Didn't see the Bolar Wars. I fell in love with anime or japanimation as it was called then in the 70"s. I went to battle of the planets (Gatachemen,), Robotech (Macross) and continue to love it to this day. I'm 42
I remember be so totally stoked at how cool it was to see a see a sub-mersible sea-craft lift out of the water with rocket assist.! That guy Stone is a bit trigger-hapy, Eh? Ithink it would have less overkill to fire the starbaurd pulse lasers at the satallite. Cause it less damage but not cost the military an entire defence system.
How bloody addictive is this show? Well, I just watched the ENTIRE 26 episode quest for Iscandar, and started in on Comet Empire series... in THE SAME DAY. I think that's about 12 hours solid of this... this cool cool ass show.
@AgentXPQ imagine being 12-13 at the start of the 80's, cartoons were all the same. then this gem showed up on tv and began a love of anime and japanese culture that continues to this day. they are making a live action move that i think comes out at the end of this year.

I can't help but wonder if the beginning of the third *Star* *Trek* movie was inspired by these episodes of "Starblazers"?
