My Ace Kill button is A instead of Q, any idea what their so called war speed key could be? The manual says Z, or is it just the same as trottle up (forward arrow)? And how to do this "look at enemy" thing? Apart from the controls and the difficulty (I'm an inexperienced gamer and even rookie doesn't let me complete the bonus missions, I just can't imagine how hard Ace could be) this thing is great!

Play IL-2 its much much better. There arent nearly as many planes to fly (particularly a lack of American planes but hey its IL-2 not P-51), but the detail such as the ability to shear wings, engines, tails ect of your targets, interior views (WHY DO GAME MAKERS SKIP THAT !?) and other things like damage that actually effects your flight characteristics make this game look laughable. The Graphics are much more realistic. As far as console flight sims go, IL-2 is the best I've ever played.

I think anyone designing a flying game should learn to fly rc planes first...

you are right about 2 and 5 but have you played the multiplayer???You play with real aces there!There are from 1-8 players i've seen in multiplayer and they are real pros!Play with joustick (it is more fun) and chalenge them!

Also there is 1 more thing.

Heroes of the Pacific is a superior game to this crap. There are some bad things wrong with this game.

1. No targeting of nearest enemy aircraft that attack you.

2. Cant command wing men to help you in very hard tasks.

3. Invisible barriers in a 2009 game? Plus NPC aircraft can penetrate these barriers with ease.

4. Really crap missions. They fling hordes of air armies at you in addition to bonus objectives which you must complete to unlock more powerful.

5. Combat with enemy aces suck.

if you want a more realistick game try Combat flight simulater 2. if you hit fx a wing it will fall of and the plane is gonna start swinging down or if you hit a bomber in the rear you can break it on the middel... its a relly good game

If you're getting this for PC, don't. The controls are downright unacceptable. You really can't even comprehend how horrible they are until you play it. I'm glad I torrented this and didn't buy it, because I'd be pissed being copped out of 50 dollars for a (completely and entirely) unplayable experience. Even after the "Joystick patch", the inability to remap buttons or sensitivities (which are currently bugged) makes it unplayable. Ubisoft and Transmission should be absolutely ashamed.

That Il-2 demo was BORING and that was the best thing going for it.. The sound of the guns was mushy and the generic engine sounds were very dissappointing. Not even going to get into the "RS look feature"...god awful. Give me this instead.. who give a sh** about realistic, this game will be "fun" and that's what games should be. I've taken flight lessons so don't even f'ing try and tell me your keyboard and mouse is more realistic than what a console can offer. They are both BS to what is real

Actually I did take lessons :)... but I did go back and re-try IL-2 again.....I had alot more fun this time...gotta mess with the settings.. I turned the HUD completely off and used the virtual cockpit view. Also turned off music and voices..not the radio chatter though...

IL-2 Came out in 2001, be realistic! And i dissagree about your "gaming" opinion, yes its true - arcade flying games are fun but serious aviaton fan like me (and probably many others) need realism to satisfy their gaming experience. Realism is what simulators are all about, if you like arcades then fine - play them but dont bitch if you dont like the game because others like it - its all matter of taste.

One big thing that turned me off from IL-2 was the overall menu system. I felt the game spent all it's time being a simulator and no time easing a new player into the environment. It's like the devs said "here's the game, good luck". I can appreciate teh game for it's simulator accuracy, but have to shake my finger at it's user friendliness.

If you're waiting for this game you may wanna try RED BARON ARCADE available @ ps store for 10 bucks unless you wanna wait 6 more months and spend 60 bucks. RBA is way worth the price and it relates to this game so much that i doubt i'll get this anymore. The demo goes online too so be sure to give it a try, you may feel the same way.

wrong! don't get it mixed up with the original pc Il-2 Sturmovik. that is the most realistic wwii flight sim. the new IL-2 BOP is just a watered down fancy graphics arcadey version for all the console kids who know nothing about sims . it's impossible to get anywhere near realistic simulation on a shitbox or pissstation. noway this BOP is it the most realistic wwii flight sim lol thats just ridiculous saying that. in world war 2 theyu didnt really use rockets because they thought that they were to unreliable(not likely to launch, hit target oreven release properly)
