  • seen the first part and liked it

  • reading the book at the mo. Funny, I've tried reading Discworld about 3 times already, but never really 'got' it. This time it's all kinda clicked into place. Suppose there is a right time for everything. Yay, lots of new stories to plunder.

  • Of course the book is better, but dude I love this movie, its awesome, plus Tim Curry just Tim Curry. :P

  • @SammEater Tim Curry really is one of a kind, isn't he?

  • @davidls11

    Yeah, he's awesome. :P

  • woah i really loved this film, but everyone here is like "hogfather " and "going postal" were better? i haven´t yet watched those (didn´t even know going postal was made into a movie o.O) but I´m so going to! :D

  • The beginning of the movie was a bit slow, but by the end it had really picked up and I was thoroughly enjoying myself. Highly recommended to Pratchett and fantasy fans.

  • Story line was not that complex, but over all I do believe that the film was worth the time to go watch it on fillmsi.co.cc. You gonna be satisfied.

  • I thought the colour of magic was the best discworld novel because I love the combination of Rincewind and twoflower. The movie was in my opinion fantastic. Sean Astin's portrayal of Twoflower was exactly how I imagined him and Tim Curry was great as well. Christopher Lee's voice of Death was hilarious and there was only one major bit of the book missing from the movie, so otherwise it was pretty accurate. My favourite discworld movie so far.

  • What, a Discworld movie with Tim Curry? How I didn't knew about this? AWESOME, I want to watch right now. :D

  • Sean Astin is ADORABLE in this.

  • i heart tim curry so much! i loved both the book and film.

  • Follow through to my channel to watch colour of magic / hogfather / going postal and find all the news and updates on the new terry pratchett films on the ONLY dedicated terry pratchett channel on youtube (ramtopsman)

  • I L.O.V.E this! I really want them to make 'Interesting Times' into a tv series.

  • @20meerkat

Next film will be Unseen academicals

  • @20meerkat

Next film will be Unseen academicals and prime focus productions are making THE WATCH tv series for bbc

  • Sky1, Sky1HD and Skyrim too :p

  • i love this book, the the movie looks cool, but hogfather is better

  • I have this on my PC, both the color of magic and the following film, and the hogfather, you can't find better films :D

  • You know, I honestly would've picked David Tennant to play Rincewind. Rincewind is only like in his late-30s, right?

  • is that Allin Kempthorne playing Cripple Wa????

  • AWESOME AWESOME!!!!

  • its tough to adapt terry pratchetts stuff to the screen me thinks.... the hogfather was pretty good, havent seen this one yet, but i woulda thought rincewind would be played by a younger actor. i always thought rincewind was meant to be in his mid to late thirties or something.

  • I just watched the movie and despite of the special effects, it was an awesome experience :D I've seen a great lot of fantasy movies and this one is by far one of the best ^^

  • I've heard this is crap compared to the novels, and from the look of the trailer I'm prone to agree.

  • I love terry pratchetts books! They are by far better than any thing ive ever read.

  • Not many people know this but Allin Kempthorne from The Vampires of Bloody Island makes an uncredited cameo in the opening sequence as Cripple Wa

  • I really liked Irons as the Patrician :)

  • For me Rincewind is much younger that he was portrayed in the movie.

  • this is amazing hilarious movie, Death, Magic Sword and Cohen the Barbarian are the bests !!! :D

  • Im the worst wizard this side of the circle sea!

  • Daived jason as Rincewind? should be Eric idol surly, and two flowers in the book is so oviosly for china not some sorft of slapsick american.

  • The film has some flaws, but putting Christopher Lee as Death was the peak of Mount Awesome.

  • D: i gotta see it

  • this film is awesome..

    enjoyed!

Tip: smoke some Dutch shit =)

  • Very disappointed with the film, it left out some of the best characters from the book like Weasel, Bravd and Hrun, its a fucking joke!! Fair enough the entire book you would need a huge budget to make, but if your gonna do it, do it properly,do the book justice, I bet the screen adapter was a pretentious twat that "liked" the book but thougt it needed some changes to compensate for their ego, fucking twat!! Avoid, read the book use your imagination, it's1000 time better than this heap of shit!!

  • the book is most definitely better than this movie, yet i'm still gonna see it + i'm gonna read the book :D

i've read several Pratchett's now, and i love em all

  • I hope you realize that the movie was closely monitored by Pratchett himself, and that most changes were his own ideas to begin with.

I suggest you inform yourself before blurting out ideotic statements.

Heck, Pratchett even has a role in the movie.

  • @Zantagor lol. I still think twoflower doesn't look right though.

  • @killerwheeliebin Wow, Killerwheelie. Go easy on the swearing. Anyway, in case you haven't noticed, not one movie ever made from a book has ever been greater than the book itself, and this one does surprisingly well, in fact. Also, the movie runs to a ridiculously long time as it is - not that I mind - and including Hrun the Barbarian, Weasal and Bravd, and the hamadryads would have stretched the length to an unacceptable point. Considering the difficulties involved, it is brilliant.

  • I've seen it yesterday for the first time, Terry Pratchett is the best, he's my hero:D

  • got this movie for christmas..is it any good? i have my doubts

  • Seems like one of those movies that makes you cringe with embarrasment because of the poor special effects or whatnot. Such a good book. And Sean Astin is in it so it can't be all bad.

  • Death is funny.

  • christopher lee! :D

  • see if I close my eyes I hear Danger Mouse. looks like David found his proper calling. Thought this was one of the best movies of this sort since the princess bride. and it stands on it's own

  • watched Hogfather. just as interesting. not quite as funny, although it was more of a drama than outright farce. Much preferred David Jason as Rincewind in this movie though. However the video interview on the Hogfather dvd was informative.

  • That's just awful. Rincewind is supposed to be a young scruffy guy, not some old guy. And Twoflower is supposed to be Asian, not white. Horrible casting.

  • @guitardbucket Maybe they are thinking covers because Rincewind's has always coming off looking exactly like I thought he would in the movie. that and Danger Mouse or is that Moose? uh...

  • I think David Jason was a little old to portray Rincewind - no disrespect to his other works.

However, Christopher Lee as Death = 6 stars out of 5.

  • i am atching this right now!

  • thats cheeesyy!!!!! shit!

  • Is this good? I love fantasy movies and Tim Curry so this seems like a winner for me. Is it as good as I am hoping before I rent?

  • Actually, I liked Hogfather a lot better--This one just didn't really have anything in it that made me want to keep watching. Worked better as a book, I suppose.

  • @cgreypaw I don't like the acting. I also think twoflower should've been fat and have a face like a which too. I agree, better as abook.

  • @cgreypaw I agree, this one was fun too, but both "Hogfather" and "Going Postal" were better

  • i thought it was a really good movie

a lot of good casting (some bad) but quite good

not as good as hogfather but still good in my books

  • Is this a pranke move :D

  • Movie was on TV in Germany yesterday. If the book is even half as good as the movie (and they usually are better than the films), I'll buy it in no time. Fantastic movie, I'm looking for the DvD right now.

Oh, and you know what? Films made out of books just can't care about every single detail. But the result of this book is fantastic, so I won't care about the age of the wizard - he was perfect as he was. :-)

  • will this be released in North America???

  • It came out today actually.

  • Shaaaaawing!

  • Anyone have a hook up for getting a DVD here in the States?

  • It came out in the states as of today.

  • Er...Twoflower IS human - from the Counterweight Continent.

As far as I remember, Rincewind's age was never mentioned, but wizards on Discworld were generally assumed to be over the age of 40 at least.

  • Well, it's pretty well mentioned that Rincewind is a *young* wizard, though. Of course, he was supposed to be the same age as Trymon - he says in The Light Fantastic that they were in "the same class," which I took to mean grade level.

  • Yeah, but Rincewind was held back for a LONG time before being expelled.

  • LUGGAAAAAAGE.

  • *sighs* They really could have made these movies better..I hope it doesn't turn out like Eragon

  • I'm right there with ya. Hogfather wasn't half bad, though... I thought the portrayal of Teatime was GREAT--One of my fave villains. :D

  • I love the books, and doing any adaption to film would take the kind of money lavished on Harry Potter - since this isn't the case I think they did a pretty good job. One thing they got perfect is (for me) Christopher Lee as Death ;) Maybe one day there'll be another version, but if I want to see what it should really look like I'll read the books from the start again...

  • Agreed. I suppose it's a lot easier to blow 200 million dollars a movie on seven movies rather than thirty-six. Not to mention the slightly smaller (though no less rabid) readership Sir Terence enjoys.

  • i agree with you they still did a wonderful job on the movie

  • Genius Film! I love it.

  • ya this looks like a dumb movie i would not even watch it for free

  • Ummm, the Dragon Rider in the first part is female.

  • Naked female actually :)

  • did u noticed theres no 1 single female in this trailer probly whole movie ???

    neither kids ....

  • In the part one there's Liessa the Dragon Lady (minor role actually but anyway), and in part two there are Bethan and Herrena the Henna-Haired Harridan. Yes, that makes three in movie where there's few dozen characters... but what's the point in calculations?
