Do Hawaii and Boise State get the respect they deserve?

Everybody forgets one very big thing: If Boise were part of a better conference, like the Big 12, SEC, or whoever...they would get access to better RECRUITING, because they would be playing higher profile schools more frequently, plus they would go to a BCS game automatically if they win conference. If they have better recruiting, they can bring in better players. And that would allow them to hang with the big boys consistently.

Boise gets no respect and won't until there is a playoff.

It's all about the mighty "DOLLAR" unfortunately Hawai'i & Boise State doesn't generate as much money compared to the big teams such as USC, Georgia, Texas, Florida etc.... The two WAC teams have to go undefeated to get recognized but you have to give them respect because they have defeated teams that are better than them.

No matter what level of football you play, you have to show up EVERY SINGLE week and play the game.

I think the BCS is a good system but it doesn't give non-BCS schools a chance to prove themselves. They go undefeated because most of their conference sucks (MWC and WAC) and then nobody believes they can cope with bigger conference teams from the ACC, SEC, PAC10, etc. I think that NCAA football is in desperate need of a playoff system. That gets rid of all the "what if's".

SEC? The PAC-10 is 12 & 6 vs the SEC since the BCS started. If all the money generated by college football was evenlly distributed to all the teams, BSU could compete. But the money at the BCS schools allows for bigger, better, recruiting. BSU vs OU was an awesome game. For one day David beat Goliath. As for Hawaii vs Georgia - gimme a break. USC beat Illinois by a larger margin - does that mean Illinois shouldn't be a BCS team?

Who's to really say unless they play the games. The fact of the matter is, they played the schedule given to them and won them all. I will admit, convential wisdom says they don't compete with the big boys,the lsu's , usc's, but college football is just like everything else, all about who makes the most money. If they gave everyone equal ground when it comes to money, endourcements, then we wouldn't be talking about this. Let's also talk about the 2004 Auburn Tigers who were undefeated!

Speaking of the 2004 Auburn Tigers, that year they beat the previous champion LSU at their home stadium but yet they're schedule was deemed to easy compared to Oklahoma. Funny thing is, they played in the SEC, the toughest conference in Colleg football today. That conference didnt suck that year, what sucked is that,getting back to BSU and UH, a no name team beat the best but got overlooked.

I think with the level of recruitment that WAC teams deal with they hold their own. Boise State is a powerhouse in that conference. Could they hang in the Pac10 at their current level. Probably not. But hey, you have to start somewhere. They were just a Div 1-AA school 10 years ago!!

All I can say is BULL. Hawaii is better than a number of the teams we are ranked behind. Trick plays? Who the f cares? Boise was better than Oklahoma. Hawaii is better than most any team in the nation right now...I would bet on them against pretty much anyone.

ESPN we do forget we beat Arizona State in the Hawaii Bowl to end the 2006 and start current win streak. ASU ranked 7th currently who returned many starters from the same team. We are still 11-0 from that point,even after graduating many to the NFL with the exception of Colt and remember Warriors travel long distance to play 5 road games in three time zones racking up 21,000+ no other team in the NCAA has to do that....
