Wow, his accent isn't bad. I think I may actually be able to watch him in this movie without feeling the second-hand embarrassment that sometimes comes when actors you like suck at doing accents. :P

Though, not being an American, I can't exactly say whether it was perfect or not (I'm guessing not).

Oh my God...hearing Colin Firth do an American accent is just...strange. I have to give him credit, though. It seems like most British people who try to do an American accent just do a Southern one. He does a passable Mid-Western accent. There are a few times that I heard him slip up, but so far, I think it's pretty convincing.

@ithungers That is because the southern accent and the british accent are close. That's why Niles from the Nanny did a wonderful British accent, and he is from Alabama I think.

I always love watching Colin Firth, but wow, how strange it sounds without his British accent!

@Chatterry he sounds pretty good and believable with an american accent but I still love him with an english accent the best but who am I kidding I would take colin with any type of accent! I am sure many of us would agree. :)
