This movie rocks! I've never seen it before, thanks sooo much for posting this. To all the haters out there, all modern skaters, snowboarders and surfers are sellouts! @Mr51893 Stacy Peralta is not a fag, and NOBODY who skated back then knew that skating was going to become what it is today. Plus, Stacy kept skateboarding alive in the 80's with the Bones Brigade. He knew what he was looking for when he found guys like Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Steve Cabbelarro, and many others. This guy was a genius.

This whole film was put together to sell the skate culture, so of course Stacy was selling the skate parks that the company that he was affiliated with were selling.

Stacy Peralta was always the textbook example of a greasy Hollywood agent, that's why he's been so successful in entertainment, he can weasel anyone into funding and buying his ideas.

And don't get me wrong, I say the above with absolute respect.

He was selling the idea of safe skating that the company that he was working for at the time promoted.

They kinda touched on this in the film, when Jayboy can't believe that Stacy went to Australia and didn't surf. Stacy was actually really upset about not being able to but the company told him that they couldn't have one of their representatives engaging a "dangerous" sport like surfing.

I don't think that Stacy was very happy for the first part of his career.

Skating became and industry, like everything else so I say fair fucks to him for the money that he made lending his name to safety equipment and sports clinics.

He's headed some of the best skate teams in the country because the fact that he cares about the safety and wellbeing of his skaters has attracted the best skaters.

I'd rather skating was designated a sport so that it would become law that all skaters are treated as well, at any level, as Peralta's teams.

Wow, that's the Pepsi half pipe at 6:30. The ramp made it's home at Sidewalk Surfpark in Fountain Valley, CA. I used to ride it all the time in the late 70's. What a great thing to see it again. Great series, thanks.
