  • Gona get me a MS1200 s touring in 4 months, yay for me, finally my extra hours will be rewarded

  • Great bike.

    I now have a 1200GS.

What I would miss if I went with the Italian stallion?

19" front wheel (would help greatly off road, wouldn't be a problem on road), longer suspension (why couldn't they add 3" more? esp. since it is adjustable?), SHAFT DRIVE! (which for touring and maintenance ABSOLUTELY RULES over chain)

If this had SHAFT DRIVE, I would have it as my next bike.

    Well maybe next multistrada...

  • @NULUSIOS well said about the shaft drive...

  • I was on Cristinano Ronaldos old Ducati MultiStrada today! So nice! Mind you I still think I'll much prefer this new model.

  • they've tried something new and it's not to everyones taste, so what? stop moaning.

considering how small a company ducati is, they make some great bikes.

it's different and that's what owning a ducati is about.

i have 2 bikes at the moment, a ktm 660 and a ducati 1098, this sort of bike could replace both of them when i get a little older

  • A really cool idea and some great innovations. If I was wealthy I might consider it. But even then, no way would I take it offroad. From reading about other Ducati repair experiences, its safe to guess a 10 mph tipover would result in a $1000+ repair bill. And you would want to repair it to keep it looking pretty. In a nutshell, that makes it no enduro. Nice dirt roads, sure.

It is quite an achievement as a powerful, lightweight, probably maneuverable sport tourer.

  • @medwards82 - i agree with medwards82 this new multistrada is an awesome bike for sure. But its no enduro.

The older 1100 multistrada was already superior to the bmw gs on - road. but the bmw was better off road with its longer travel suspension and bigger 19 inch front wheels and enduro tires.

I would have preferred that ducati improve the off road capabilities of their multistrada

still, the multistrada 1200 seems to be the more exciting motorcycle :)

  • Sold! I've had a few Ducs but this looks like the next one for me.

  • This is the bike to have for 2010 in my opinion. I would love a hypermotard too but I would lose my license. This seems to be the best of both worlds, mad, fun, sensible, practicle and comfortable all in one.

    Wish I had the money.

  • This bike is unbelievable! What amazing looks and technology. Im just about on my way to the dealership now lol. I cant understand how people like frimer can winge about the sophisticated electronics. Theyre probably the type of people that would have complained when the car was produced and we all didnt just stick with a horse and cart. Its called evolution. This sort of technology allows you to push bikes beyond the limits without being thrown down the road. Fantastic product Ducati!

  • They remind me of Gordon Murray, the Mclaren f1 designer when told about the Bugatti Veyron, he said: "The most pointless exercise on the planet has got to be this four-wheel-drive 1,000 horsepower Bugatti". And then after he drove it: "It's a huge achievement ...

So, these guys are blaming the bike before knowing it, there's only one word to describe it: stupidity ....

  • cool wenn jemand sich um mich kümmert bin so einsam

  • I just have to say... WOW !!, incredible..!!

my dream bike... like a GS, but with 150 HP...!! just 3 comments so far:

    1. No spoke rims, just 17" forged rims...

    2. Too much plastics and cowlings, still very street based bike, still far distant from the BMW GS enduro concept, of more an enduro bike, disigned to withstand abuses...

    3. Wind Shield seems to be too small, better than the old multi though..., not so wind effective, this should be better designed ala BMW Adventure shield...

  • I currently own a ST3s ABS and prior to that owned a ST4s. I will strongly consider getting this bike because of the engine and more upright riding position. I still think my ST3s ABS looks better and the windshield on this new bike needs some work, but everything else seems fine. OF course, the proof in in the riding. (frimer, I think you can stop breaking the librium tabs in half...... relax, it's going to be OK)

  • ...i dont care if this would pack 200hp...if i wanted a BWM GS i WOULD GET a BMW GS...they are stuffing too much electronics in these things...they are making " muscle motorcycles" for dummies..i wonder why the average rider cant handle the older models...i guess you NEED TO KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!

  • Lets just hope this is STILL a DUCATI.. Since the change from the dry to wet clutch the multi lost part of her character...i know this cause im a proud owner of a 2005 1000DS model and i would not changed it for any of the newer models...i dare any ducati fan to sit on a 2005 model and just FEEL and LISTEN to that engine running and then jump on a newer wet clutch model...

  • so u cant chage the setting as what ever u want?? what if i want 150 hp in the city with out abs or traction controll??

  • Im sure you can put it on what ever settings you want when ever you want....

  • WOW!!!!! THIS IS GOOD!!! THIS IS VERY GOOD!!! IM IMPRESSED!!!

I was SO close to buying a Multistrada 1100 last year. I always loved the Strada. But I looked elsewhere because it didnt have ABS.

I bought a Triumph Tiger in stead.... Which I now love.

But THIS!! This is..... Perfection!!! My dream bike, that I didnt even know! I need to ride it! & Buy it!

WOW! Well Congrats Ducati! I think you have just made a BMW GS 1200 Beater!! Lets see what happens. ; )

  • That's great! I loved Multistrada 1000, and I'll love this new one... Let's see it at Eicma!!

Essendo di Monza poi... è anche più vicino!!
