  • my brother loves you

    !

  • Makes me wanna go to hill country just to hear this killer groove live. Really good stuff Adam!!!

  • So sweet, that was great Adam. I love R.L. Burnside!

  • i'm so, dang exicted it;s hard to sleep. i just can't wait. have'nt even been around other harp players before.AWESOME!!!!!

  • Looking forward to seeing you in the Hill Country!!!

  • Youre not just an amazing harmonica player, but also a great marketer!

  • Great idea Adam! Love the way you Gussowed a Burnside song.

  • Perfect

  • I don't get all the negativity here.. I love how you turned up the bass drum: just by listening to the jam it's like I'm sitting in a smokey bar with beer in hand listening to some down home blues. Loved it!

  • I really like the background vocal (I believe that was the idea). I'd make harp dirtier and louder tho-

    superb

  • Harp is killer as always Adam, but I think your vocals here are right on! You are a bluesman! Thanks for taking us down to the hill country.

  • The silhouette looks awesome.

  • for the kill! dig the jam!

  • Awesome solo harp Mr. Gussow. Your getting more and more innovative with those foot drums. We will work on your harp boxing skills at Hill Country Harmonica :)

  • Adam, very different for you. I love it. You are always full of suprises. Glad to see something new from you. I just started to watch from the begining all of your videos to practice on my weak points-- which are more then I would like to admit. Again, thanks for "giving it all away".

  • I am SO looking forward to this.

  • You're playing with something different than the venerable Mouse amp----is the old girl retired?

  • Hey Adam, I don't mean to be negative, but the drums are too loud, the harp sound is tweaky, and the lighting is too harsh! After 200 videos, you've suddenly lost your touch!

Or else....my God. Is it possible? Maybe you're trying something a little different? Hmmm

  • @KudzuRunner A little self effacing humor perhaps?

  • I don't want to be negative at all but the bass drum kind of overpowers the harp and vocals. Too bad there isn't a volume on a drum!

  • Your aesthetics differ from mine. I boosted the drum volume in iMovie by EQing the bass up. That's how I like it.

  • Can't argue with that....for some reason, the bass drum reminded me of the Will Ferrell Saturday Night Live skit where about the Cowbell.....got to have more cowbell! Only here it was...got to have more bass drum! Thanks for everything as always.

  • Great jam, love it!

I've already paypaled my ticket and booked my hotel.

  • I enjoyed the sound. Really wished you hadn't had all that light behind you and no lamp in front of you.

This makes me want to go out and look at foot drums electronic or manual, it's a good setup.

  • Your aesthetics differ from mine. I boosted the contrast in iMovie precisely to create the effect that you don't like. "Summer in Mississippi." Hip hop photographers like my friend Danny Clinch achieve the same effect through cross-processing.

  • Adam, have you thought of checking out electronic drums / kick drums to give further options to your new found sound?

Given that you generally play amplified harp, electronic-aided percussion might give you some interesting additional options in terms of sound and accompanying rhythms. Haven't seen anyone else do so ...

Plus, you can practice just with headphones, minimizing spousal discord. Always a good thing!

  • @johnnieharp: Somehow I don't think that electronic is where I want to go. I like human. That's sort of the Mississippi way.

  • is anybody going from the UK?

  • i urge all person who have been blessed with adam's free you tube lessions.!to come and pay tribute to such a generous teacher!it's the least we can do for such a passionate harpist. lets make this one hell of a event!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic! wish I could go

  • reply back, yes i need a serious evaluation! critizism welcomed! it won't deter me from this passion. little nervous though! you giving me a motivation out of my rut i had earlier.when we talked before. fond out i was just tired. heck i work concrete and have a disabled wife who supports 110%.

  • hey man this sounds great.

wish i could go, 18 and live in Scotland but just don't have the money. sounds amazing.

i hope this type of event happens again.

i would of really liked to of met you, because you are basically why and how i learned to play the harmonica.

just like to say thanks for all the help you have given me, you clarify so much more than my starter harp books have taught me.

just hope this event happens again

  • @PotatoMayoDrink i just can;t learning from this guy, leaves me walking away exhaulsted

  • I might be able to make it, Adam. It would be a blast to meet you and get some one on one.

  • You've got good ears. Yes, that's a result of several things. At the beginning of the video, the camera was on-axis, so you get more treble crunch; later, the amp was on the floor and off-axis as well. Also, the footdrum steals bandwidth and kicks in the videocam's limiter; when I was just blowing harp, later, without drums, it was all amp, no limiter. The thin tone was mostly about being on-axis--and having soundwaves bounce up off the tile floor of my kitchen, where the camera was.

  • I should have said, "; later, the amp was on the floor and on a much lower plane than the camera, which was up on my desk and off-axis from the amp....."

  • I like your tone on this one. Rippin'!!

  • i will be there! coming down from kansas city missouri.can't wait to meet you adam.never been to anything like this before, hope ya are impressed with my first year of learning an musical instrument. got it mostly from adam's you tube tutorials!

  • Yes, I'm really looking forward to meeting some people who mostly know me through these videos. The difference will be: I can watch YOU, and listen to YOU, and give you direct, immediate feedback. That's going to be fun.

  • Adam I would love to go to this event but I will be fly fishing in the west of Ireland that weekend.

  • New video!!!!

    Nice hat!

    Thanks from Brasil
