  • Hannibal was dark skinned. He was born in Africa. Carthage was located in northern African. The Greeks and Black Africans ruled Carthage. The Romans hated the Greeks. The architectural structure of Carthage was similar to Greek and Egyptian cities. The majority of the world people knows that the Egyptians were black. Whites were the first ones to state that Hannibal was black. Tarzan wasn't Hannibal. Hannibal was a darkie like the actor on MASH said.

  • can anyone please tell me what the subtitles are? what language

  • Comment removed

  • To all below me..WHY SO SERIOUS?! this is history, you can't change history with you're stupid comments. Enjoy the video FFS!

  • Thank you so very much for posting this video. Unlike the commentator below (Hannibal31) this is an accurate depiction of ancient History (at least from the Roman perspective.) I'm not saying that this History (based on Livy and Diodorus Siculus is objective, but it IS accurate vis-a-vis the Latin sources. And I teach this at University. So I DO know history.

  • hollywood my god

you want to manipulate the public opinion , with this videos that false is

you have no fucking information about history

    but l tell you something

imperialism and sionist will never win like rome like usa is the same

    hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

gaddafi is a exemple for hannibal

  • "not bad for a Greek"... :D funny quote... considering the outcome :)

  • not bad for a greek... racist

  • Alexander was greek actualy, alexander was after the war with persia and the 300 at thermopylae, that was when greece united as a country called greece, Macadonia was just a state of greece. present day macadonia is a seperate country to greece.

  • @PretentiousPainters

Macedonia, was Macedonia,as Sparta was Sparta, and Athens was Athens, when Greece was dominated by Macedonia,it was called Macedonia, and Greece.

Greece as all states is a creation, like the idea of EU of today,a bunch of different civilizations that trough constant wars, relations, interdependence, adoptions, etc, became alike, patriotism of Greece overpassed, the patriotism of Sparta/Athens,etc,but that didn´t happen with Macedonia.

  • Love this

  • My history teacher will gonna surprise this.

    I memorize every details. LOL

  • The Boi Gauls ... Indeed crazy

  • Alexander wasn't Greek he was Macedonian. Macedonia is north of Greece

  • @dominicoarcieri Indeed, but Alexander admired Greek culture and absorbed it into his own Macedonian kingdom and spread this Hellenistic culture over the lands of Asia and Africa he conquered.

  • @dominicoarcieri 1) Philippos(Φίλιππος) is stemming from the Greek words Philo-love(φιλώ)+ippos-horse(ίππος). So Philippos it is the “man who loves the horses”. In the same way Alexandros(Αλέξανδρος) means in the Greek language “the eliminator of a man”. His mother’s name was Olympias(Ολυμπιάς). This names are pure Greek just like the name of Hephaestion – Vulcan(Ηφαιστείων), Krateros - Strong man (Κρατερός) e.t.c. comrades and friends of the Alexander the Great.

  • @dominicoarcieri 2) Until the Roman conquest of Greece ONLY Greek people participated in to the Olympic Games(776 B.C.). Well guess what, the Macedonians participated normally as every Greek citizen.

  • @dominicoarcieri 3) Policy it’s one thing but historical truth it’s another. They are numberless data about the Greek identity of the Macedonians(I don’t mean the neighboring Slavic people), so please read some history books or else stop polluting the youtube with linguistic garbage.

  • @dominicoarcieri Macedonia existed from Greeks migrating there. They were Greek, like the Greeks in Athens and Sparta, who called themselves Athenians and Spartans and were separate states in their own right. Not unified Greeks.

  • 5:16 it is not much.i can barely fill my hand.

5:21 rome will give me more if i betray you.

  • Your subtitles layered over the existing titles ruin both and serve neither language.

  • Not Bad For A Greek ! But We Can Do Better !

Alexander did not conquer the world Sir...didn't even conquer India

  • @H770907 true, true

  • @H770907 Greco-Bactrian Kingdom,Indo-Greek Kingdom,I think those are enough.Alexander's army refused to move forward into some backward rainy subcontinent... *facepalm*

  • @H770907 Alexander conquered "the KNOWN World" ,the world that people of europe knew existed....did he conquer america? NO...it wasnt known to them then..and he did conquer the known parts of india ...defeated porus the great.

  • troops were aquatinted on route to rome, these included gauls and the massilian people they may have only left with 50k troops but by the time they got there they could of had up to almost double that

  • What language is that which is basically in the way during these videos?

  • if he had 50k troops here how could he lose 70k in the alps

  • @panzermort

The reported figure from Polybius is no doubt exaggerated - but on all accounts, that figure includes the number who had left with him from Spain. 50k traveled across the Rhone. By all accounts, Hannibal lost more soldiers in his fast campaign north of the Ebro enroute to Italy than he did in battles in Italy - which seems a bit suspicious to me (but of course, not impossible!).

  • So when a Roman army is ambushed they get their butts kicked. But when a Carthaginian army is ambushed they win?

  • @CrimsonGuard1992 its just depends on the ambush, u cant just assume that an ambush will automatically win you a victory. Think about it, a bunch of savages from near by villages, ambushing a more trained, better geared army over 50k men. You would need at least 30k men to ambush a force like that. now imagine hiding 30k men in a forest. you just cant pull it off. those ambushes were probably small clans being stupid.

  • @CrimsonGuard1992 and the ambushes you see in your hollywood "movies" are usually britons ambushing roman legions, or reinforcement forces ranging from 300 men to 5k, but NOT entire armies.

  • Rome had more influence in Spain than any other culture the modern Language spain uses Spain and it's modern name come from Rome Hispania and Spanish is close to Latin Destiny destroyed the African Conqueror Hannibal for a reason to let Rome rule the western world and he should call Spain Hispania and France Gaul or what were the Carthaginian names for Spain and France

  • the savage tribesmen were bulgarian. we are not savage!

  • @MegaLuigiMario was there any slavic tribes in west europe ? i never heard of bulgarians or any slavic tribe inhabting those lands at the time.

  • @MegaLuigiMario those tribesmen were Celtic Gauls, the Bulgarians were in Bulgaria, it's the Rhone River in France

  • Carthage was a trading port for centuries. I'm sure there were a lot of mixed Races. It happens even to this day.. His "Race" isn't what is important. It his Leadership and Drive to Conquer that placed him in History. Not his "Race."

  • @1958louief People constantly focus on this petty bullshit. It's the same thing for modern leaders too. Does anyone care what Obama did? No, they care that he's black.

  • I don't believe in hollywood crap. Hollywood sometimes twist things cuz it's run by jews. Also will smith playing taharqa the last pharaoh in 2013. Will smith could of play any egyptian pharaohs cuz his skin tone match the ancient egyptians. It show you how they are trying to make claim that modern day egyptians which mostly are descendant of conquerers and invaders are the original one. But they want to make it seem like kushites were different from ancient egyptians in truth they were not.

  • healthy not healy sorry :)

  • ..edonia and hase the power to change parts from the history , one time saying a lie is nothing but 100 time that lie become truth!! :))) please alsoo look for demosten and his filipiki , he has lived in the time of the father of Alexander the great Filip , and filipiki are books writen by demosten explaining and offending filip as an barbarian and so and so and so,,,, we are living in a time that everything is possible by huge influence off money and politics ;)

  • What's the language in the subs? Is it some kind of Esperanto or Volapuk having the features of all known European languages? :-)

  • big mistake alexander is not greek he is Macedonian

  • @dalavera100 Macedonians were quite similar to the Ancient Greeks: culturally, linguistically, religiously, and I'm pretty sure even genetically.

  • @dalavera100 do u have any historical facts?no. go to GREEK macedonia there are proofs its greek written in ancient stones.....

  • @mg44t3a4 i can not write with you is obvius that you had leave and skip all the history lesons :)))

you are a nation that everything what apears to be good, you are claiming that is yours , helenik greeks macedonians romei spartans you are calling your selfe , but in healy mind no bady cant think that he is a part from all the natianlitese that hade live , traveled and concered before his time etc..

  • @dalavera100

Sorry, but that's like saying "Napoleon was not French, he was Corsican" (though he was) :-)

But Alexander was a man of Greek culture, he was a leader of combined Greek forces, and nobody is sure about the exact ethnical origins of that time Macedonians (but they are believed to be mostly Dorians).

  • @Artyom2012 that is the bigest mistake that ever has been made , look ,the greeks in 1913 tok the biggest part of macedonia so in fear not to lose the land part ,they had made huge campagne in the 80 s that all macedonia is greek only for that reason , you could look for the first book for the macedonian minority in north greece bukvar , in that time the greeks are saying that Macedonians are separated nation by language culture and nations from the greeks , but greece is more poverful dan mac..

  • @dalavera100 he was greek Macedonia only came after he died and greece was separated if i remember right.

  • I don't think hannibal look anything like what we see in this documentary. Modern day lebanese alot of them are descendant of greeks, romans, persians and turks. They are not the ancient one. They did dna on phoenicians that live around hannibal's time, they all show them to be related to east african people. Meaning egyptians.

  • @Thutmosis7 First off, who's "they"? Did they specifically test Carthaginians?

  • THat's why most of history is untold. Majority of what we call his-story was written by colonial powers over the past 400 yrs. It was written by jesuit priests in europe. Most of it is false and made up.

  • @Thutmosis7

Blah blah blah Europe this Europe that... Why don't Black supremacists make your own videos with black actors and leave the rest of us non-blacks in peace...

  • @rtstitan In due time. Don't you see the truth is solely coming out? Vin diesel is to play hannibal and denzel is father. It's showing you that they already know history we know today is false. Next few yrs will smith will play taharqa the last basically great pharaoh of ancient egypt. After him egypt started to decline and never recover cuz it was being rule by foreigners until this day. I would say sadat was the last native to rule his country.

  • @Thutmosis7

Today's Hollywood movies have the worst sense of historical accuracy!! Its hilarious when people learn history from hollywood, comedians, and what their college professors may have said and not from books or visiting museums. Ahh..the information age ...of the media and the internet where people can learn broken pieces of information within seconds . Hollywood made Persian immortals look like Japanese Samurai when we have sculptures proving otherwise.

  • @rtstitan The persian immortal look more like the people in southern part of india. I have a britanica encyclopedia, and they look dark brown in skin tone. Curly to wavvy type of hair. Ancient elamites they were. They should of use the dravidian or tamil type to play that role.

  • @Thutmosis7

Actually your claims of Persian Immortals being from the Southern of India are wrong. The immortals were one of the Few troops of the Persian Army that had Persian or Medic ancestors. So using a Tamil to play that role would just be another Hollywood flaw, Indians may have served as mercenaries in the Persian army but Immortals were strictly Persian! The movie had good action but was flawed in many ways but i guess to the typical Hollywood conspiracy theorist its a history book...

  • @rtstitan Dude i know what the persion immortals look like. I have see depiction of them. They were dark brown skin people. According to ancient historians like herodotus said they were ethiopian type. They had wavvy to curly type of hair.

  • @Thutmosis7

Ethiopian type people? lol, Have you ever traveled to Iran or met someone who is Persian? Its pointless to debate with some who see's everything as White and Black there are different skins colors like Brown and Yellow. Whites have curly hair too, and so do Mediterranean people all you have to do is Google Iranian and you'll see what they look like.

  • @Thutmosis7 According to Ancient sources Persians are described as tall and fair skin. An eyewitness like Xenophon(Historian/soldier) and Plutarch can describe Persians for you. Also, Persia had a vast empire stretching from Africa, Europe, the Mediterranean(Middle East) to Asia( steppes) so a physical description of a “Persian” can vary.

  • @Thutmosis7 . Why don’t you go to a Persian website like Iranchamber or Iranpoliticsclub to find out more? Afraid of the truth? The debate is pointless really since you ignore everything I say, so this is my last reply to you. This whole thing will be solved with you googling Iranian and you will find out what Persians look like.

  • @rtstitan Those are probably state run sites like PressTV that are trying to legitimize their propaganda by looking western.

  • @Thutmosis7 Why Sadat because he's possibly HALF-African? what difference does it make if he's black or not? Don't tell me you are gonna tell me some drop of blood rule. Why are we talking about Egypt??? This video is about Carthage.... Again about how all the ancient Egyptians were black? We can't even get an accurate portrayal of what they look like, they were all wiped out. Again you are repeating yourself, well this discussion has become redundant and has gone long enough..See ya : )

  • this is crazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • The bust of hannibal is not him. Most of the statue that they use depicting ancient people were done over the last few hundred yrs. Most of them are fake. It's not the real live image of them. North africa was a black area up till the mid christian era. It started to change over the last 1000 yrs. Plus arabs didn't have a great number in ancient palestine until around the 16th century. So they weren't the people in that area. Ancient egyptians were black and so were the libyans.

  • Hannibal was neither Black nor Arab. He was a Phoenician on his father's side, and an Iberian on his mother's side. The Carthaginian territories in Spain were practically run as a fiefdom of the Barca family, even though they governed in the name of Carthage. Phoenicians were originally from the area of Lebanon and southern modern Syria. Arabs wouldn't colonize the Levant or North Africa until the Seventh Century CE.

  • @Vexille1983 Dude he was black and cut the crap. Tired of you euronuts with your nonsense propaganda ignorances. Ancient north africans were black up till that point. Modern day people in north africa are the result of conquerers and migration from western asia after hannibal fall.

  • @Thutmosis7 No,you cut the crap. Carthaginians were PHOENICIAN. From Lebanon. Carthage was a Phoenician colony to start with. And I'm not a fucking "euronut". Maybe you should look beyond your own prejudice and ignorance yourself. I'm sick of hearing about these stupid conspiracy theories about some white-dominated academia trying to "re-write" history. If that were true, then why would they say that they were Asiaitic Phoenicians?

  • He says the romans landed at marseille, in those days it was called massilia

  • The only problem with this movie is that Hannibal was a blackman. The Europeans always taking our birth right. If carthage was is Africa then Hannibal and his Barca were black men. Y'all Caucasians need to stop lying about history.

  • @elshalik777

Hannibal wasn't a black man he was possibly of Arab descent! or Greco-Arab he was a Phoenician.Look at some Carthaginian artifacts for goodness sake it wont show any Negroid Africans. I assume you being black afrocentrist are so idiotic you don't even know that Arabs even till this day control north African nations such as Libya and Egypt! Plus what great African tv? made by Black Africans do you even see researching and showing accurate history. Get a grip!

  • @rtstitan first off let make this clear this is going to be my first and my last responding to you. You're a coward you don't even have a profile picture so STFU and stop hiding you're identity. And secondly NOW I KNOW YOU'RE A DUMB ASS DEGENERATING ASIAN(caucasian) Arabs didn't get to africa until the crusades so you don't know accurate history. Even Your own HISTORIANS SAY THE PHOENICIANS were black. Hollywood is the only muthafuckas that be lying. So get the fuck outta here with that shit.

  • @elshalik777

No you are WRONG! and what if i don't have a profile picture. What does that have to do with the argument, if you want to meet me so bad in real life message me and i'll come and SEE YOU! Also what you call Arabs have been occupying Africa since antiquity, IDIOT! Learn some history and Phoenicians weren't black I've seen Phoenician artifacts and the Phoenicians depicted weren't negroid.

  • @rtstitan The artifact of the phoenicians were done by people over the last couple hundred yrs. They are fake. It's just the facts. You need to get off that eurocentric BS you been studying for the past yrs. They did dna on ancient phoencian skeleton some yrs ago and it was PBS. The dna show that the phoenician are related to ancient egyptians. So their dna is the same e3b as somalis, sudanese, upper egyptians, eritreans and ethiopians.

  • @Thutmosis7 And what "facts" do you have to prove your statements, other than your prefered conclusions? Can you even prove that you know what you're talking about in regard to so-called fake relics? Phoenicians were mariners, whose' empire was not simply based in Africa. Don't you think that if they were genuinely African, that their empire would have been based far inland as well? Their territories were always based near the coast, indicting the origins overseas.

  • @Thutmosis7

lol, of course of course, yes artifacts that have existed for thousands of years are "fake" but some random scientist today who takes after your afrocentric tendencies is real. Also Phoenicia had Nubian immigrants but it was controlled mostly by what you call Arabs, Persians, Greeks etc. Its not just Eurocentric bs, its displayed in many museums in the Middle east which are not under European control. I rather trust what i see on the Museum of Beirut than anything of TV.

  • @Thutmosis7

Also that skeleton they examined could have been a Black Nubian living in Phoenicia, people back then weren't as "racist" as people are today. If you think everything is fake then why come to this video? Its only watched by whites, arabs, jews, and other eastern people not blacks. You don't have to watch it and come spread your propaganda! Also why are you living in the United States? Its a nation controlled by racist whites? Why don't you go back to an African nation like Somalia!

  • @rtstitan Dude palestine/syria was a colony back then for the ancient egyptians. The egyptians/kushites were the first people in those land long before the eurasian arab people them. Arabs didn't become a large number in palestine/lebanon until the 16th century. Arabs had nothing to do with those regions. Arabs are mostly related to assyrians/indoeuropeons. Egypt last control of that regions to the assyrians. Under the assyrian they carried off many people in exile.

  • Comment removed

  • @Thutmosis7

Now you're claiming all Egyptians were black? lol! How do you know all this for sure? Egypt has a very ancient history we don't even know what the very earliest of Rulers of Egypt look like. How do you know they were all black? We just have a few surviving busts, statues, reliefs and sarcophagus of a few famous Egyptians. Even if the Egyptians all black doesn't mean Carthaginians were black. Assyrian empire extended into Israel/Egypt 641 BC so Arabs have been there for a while.

  • @Thutmosis7

lol, this discussion is ridiculous in the 1st place. If you believe Hannibal was black that's fine go to a Afrocentric video and say Hannibal is black, All Egyptians are black, All Jews are black, the Entire Middle East is black, I've even heard some Afrocentrists say that people from India and China are black, lol! The whole world is black, Whatever pleases you : ) Just don't spread your racist propaganda here! This show is made for educational purposes not to start a race war!

  • @rtstitan What does china or central asia have to do with this? I am talking about africa. I mean yes who ever said that are right about china and middle east. But that was along time ago. I am talking about at least 2000 yrs ago? no. Yes the canaanites were black too. But that's not what this topic is about. We are talking about an individual person name hannibal. I don't go into china topic talking about this. If you want him to be for you then so be it. But in the end we know the truth.

  • @Thutmosis7

Nice counterpoint : ) and i know you are trying turn my argument against me. I know china has nothing to do with this discussion i was referring to your changing the subject from Carthage to Palestine which you did 1st. lol and you even agree with that afrocentrist, lol! Its hard to take anybody with such a bias seriously. Canaanites were black? Maybe some but not all, lol! Their artifacts depicting them don't all look black....Anyway why aren't you at a pro black video?

  • @Thutmosis7

We Arabs, Whites, and Jews prefer watching this historical reenactment if you don't mind without people like you spewing afrocentrist propaganda : ) Why don't you blacks make a documentary of your own? All performers can be black set in africa and in the end you can show Hannibal defeating the "evil" whites, and arabs, lol!

  • @rtstitan It's funny how when i talk about african history, i am a afrocentrist. But when euronuts talk about it, they are not eurocentrist. How can a people that is barely 6000 yrs of history be given the authority over our history? It just don't make any sense. I am not a afrocentrist, i am a africentrist. I believe in the truth. I don't think any other group of people can write my ancestor history other than the original people. History is written by the victors that's so true.

  • @Thutmosis7 i'm an Afro-latino Panamanian and I'm aware of the need for black people around to be pround of the achievements of the African continent. However, I don't subscribe to the revised Afrocentric or Afrocentrist theories that seem to have spawn from some black "historians". I know my ancestors were Sub-Saharans slaves who were taken to the New World like many others in the Americas. I'm also aware that Africa has had Caucasoids living in North Africa from at least the Neolithic age.

  • @Thutmosis7 mostly of those North Africans(In Maghreb) that we know today as Berbers are of mediterreanean appearance and some are black/mix. They speak languages that are not related to any languages either in rest of Africa, Middle East or Europe. This is a phenomenon of language isolate that means these tribes are indigenous of the isolated Atlas mountains,Kabylia and The Lybian deserts. As for Hannibal and his ancestors we know that he spoke Punic, Greek, Numidian and maybe other languages.

  • @blackarawak83 Like dr clark said there is no such thing as a white african. Berbers you see there are mainly descendant of germanic tribe that invader north africa during the 5 th century C.E. Not to mention a wave of other migrants from western asia over the last 1000 yrs. We also had seapeople which landed in north africa in the 11 century. The real lybians are black. The one we see today of mixed. When rome conquered north africa alot of the inhabitants were capture and many fled

  • @Thutmosis7 Carthage was founded as a Canaanite colony. The Punic language was basically a dialect of the Caananite people of present day Lebanon who were called Phoenicians by the learned Greeks. The Phoenicians were related to the Northern Semitic speaking groups like the Israelites and the Aramaic speaking Syrians of antiquity(Today relatives of Punic/Phoenician is Hebrew,Arabic and probably Maltese).

  • @Thutmosis7 We know also that the new Phoenicians as they became Carthaginians, founded colonies all over the Western Med (W Sicily, Malta, Sardinia and many parts of Iberia> Spain/Portugal). In my honest opinion, Hannibal may have been in appearance a mixture of North African Berber, Semitic and most probably Iberian ancestry(Therefore very olive skin South Mediterrenean). I doubt he was of Sub-Saharan (Black) descent.

  • @blackarawak83 It's funny all the time when somebody start speaking the truth about africa, they are quickly call afrocentric or whatever you call it. If it's not base off western academic view it's flaws. Plz save the drama. This is why they say 99% if history is all lies. Cuz it's written by the victors and they are the ones tellin his-story. canaanite or phoenician make no difference. The term phoenician is not a people, but term use to describe purple.

  • @Thutmosis7

History is written by victors, losers and eye witness accounts of many nations and many people not just "whites" but different whites your one track mind separates peoples into whites and non-whites they're not all "euro-nuts" they're different types and kinds of people like different kinds of Arabs, Semites, Caucasians with a different culture and language all reporting the same thing. Yes when white supremacist say something they will be corrected...

  • @Thutmosis7

Everything that came to Africa doesn't have to be "your" ancestors history Africa was invaded many times by different groups of people.....Now you're playing around with words "afrocentrist" to " africentrist" what's the difference? You still claim everything written by White, Arab and other Semitic historians is false and everything in Africa was created by black people of Africa despite artifacts and historical evidence show otherwise....

  • btw smtgh i want to mention - the tribes leader in the begining of the part ( tribes north of the river) speaks Bulgarian - so this is the way in which they interpret the actions of Bulgaria in the Punic wars :)

  • Comment removed

  • This is why it really helps to have a navy.

  • Serbs are a great example of bravery and powerfull soldiers, all who are educated in warfare history know this... in roman days Serbs had the most fiercest knights, easterns romes main decisions were made in Belgrade

  • @03Srbija they were covards that wanted power and attack croatia

  • @y2jtakerfan4ever hah coming form a dirty dusman of course, a true example of a coward is a bitch talking down a brave nation, saying how we Orthodox christians opressed you demon fucking catholics. fuck off mate...

truth does hurt you scum, Serbian will always be superiour to you scum face it....

  • @03Srbija hahaahahhaa XD your so funny cant you say something else than scum you bitch? so you think thaz serbs and roman are brave thats why romans escaped when celts and other barbarians killed 80%of their army and when croatians beated your ass hahaha!

  • the warchief of the barbarian tribe was speaking bulgarian and was not quite well translated by Hannibal's brother. He said " It's too little, the roads in the mountain are difficult, you'll need my men. Despite that Rome would give us more if I betray you!" - so if Hannibal had a better translator he would be expecting an ambush :D :D :D

  • I want to buy this movie, would you recommend?

    thumbs up= yes

    thumbs down= no

  • @Jornberentsen

why would you buy it if you can watch this whole thing on youtube for free?

  • @ulongkoror

    haha I wasn't going to buy :P

I meant download, but that's so ugly to say :P

  • @Jornberentsen

but still, why would you download if you can just watch it here?

  • @ulongkoror

    You got a point

I think just for better quality, but you're right ;)

  • Alexander was macedonian.

  • I think I'll have an argument with myself in the meantime before I know enough about Hannibal to have an insult- ridden argument with fellow enthusiasts who would otherwise be great company on a boring train journey.

  • hahaha wow at 6:54 I though big boss will come out being chased by ocelot and his GRU on a jail break~

  • no the carthaginians were white afircans by that they werent black african they were more arab looking but were not arabs in any sense

  • @lion3p0 Weren't the Carthaginians the decedents of the Phoenicians who settled there after the burning of Troy? They would have been white with some darker skin tones mixed in. I think that the actor in this special is about the right color. I know a few Greeks and they have light olive skin, not black, not white.

  • @fluff125 Correct, but it was Tyrhus, Sour in modern day Lebanon. You are referring to the story of Elissa who founded Carthage

  • @fluff125 Correct, but it was Tyrhus, Sour in modern day Lebanon. You are referring to the story of Elissa who founded Carthage. I am not sure if Tyrus burned - I know she fled from het brother Pygmalion. Both names are Greekified though. The phoenecian names must have been different

  • @lion3p0 Learn some history, idiot. Spoon-fed head americans are making a cesspool of stupdity in the comment section.

  • Would've been interesting if Hannibal and Imilce had any children.

  • @HistoryLover1550 they did have children

  • @lion3p0 Really? That's cool! How many and What were their names?

  • Aliens have been entertaining themselves as they watch us humans of the same species start wars for stupid reasons. XD

  • @Str4t0sPh3rE I hardly call this war 'stupid' Carthage went to war for the right reasons

  • imilche is HOTTTTT!

  • @dansnikolayevich Hannibal also had 7 sisters, they must've been pretty hot too. Too bad nothing's known about them.

  • Antraxe is right: the Barbarians wearing Celtic caskets and hair are here depicted speaking a Slavic language, Bulgarian or Serbian, but definitely not a Celtic one. And not to mention that when Hannibal presents his plan to his generals shows the road of his army will pass through "France". Hellloooo! This name came into history after Gaul was conquered by Francs, around 5th century of this era, 800 years after these events. Slavic peoples arrived in Dalmatia the same time and never in Alps!

  • VERY VERY VERY NICE VIDEOS TOV TODA

  • alright people Hannibal was not black the Carthaginians werent black THEY CAME FROM SPAIN that just happened to have settlements in Africa

  • @BBxTerra They came from Lebanon, not Spain... They were Semites, like the like the Babylonians, the Arabs, and the Hebrews. They would have had olive to brown skin, not black, and not white...

  • @BBxTerra -__- they're Phoenician by origin which means they were Semites( not Spanish).

  • lol, didn't know that Hannibal encountered Bulgarians in western Europe

  • Eurocentric version of hannibal. Hannibal was a black man, end of story.

  • @alonelychild Alexander Siddig

  • isn't that dude who play hanibal on star trek deep space nine is the DR

  • Alexander the barbarian, why do people LIE about history & self grandeur???

Alexander does NOT come close to the GREATS, ie TIMUR Amir.

  • I like pretty much that actor who plays Hannibal. What's his name?

  • @alonelychild

    Alexander Siddque,

  • @alonelychild Alexander Siddig.....he was on Deep Space Nine back in the day.

  • @alonelychild He has the Hannibal look.

  • Soon this will be over....Il have my revenge.....and i can return to Deep space 9

  • @BudPeters44

    Bravery is eternal and human.

Standing in a line shooting at another line of men 40 yards away took great courage.

Charging machineguns at the Somme took deep courage. Suicidal bombing for martyrdom takes massive courage.

If there is one thing that doesn't change in our puny human history... is people willing to die for an ideal.

    But, as the philosopher says...

"Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent."

Peace takes the greatest courage of all.

  • I wonder how many the tribes men at 7:00 numbered. did they know they tried to ambush 90,000 men?

  • If I'm not mistaken, traveled unarmed in that time,

their armor and weapons where carried by wagons pulled forward by animals (full equipment weighed around 30 kg (60 pounds)

Whole armies have been slaughtered in the ancient world this way.

When Caesar was conquering Gaul, 1,5 Legions where destroyed while they where marching from one camp to another.

The Eburon tribe that attacked them was most likely heavily outnumbered, but not unarmed like the Romans were^^

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 ahh makes a lot more sense. Plus they have the advantage of surprise!

  • 5:20 Bulgerian

  • @6urito the language??

  • could you imagine being a soldier in those days..They were really brave to battle knowing they had no pain killer's or help if hurt bad, they basicly had to die if not able to fight anylonger..I would love to see our modern day Gangs fight soldiers of the past in a fair knife or sword fight..the gangs of today would run like cowards against real soldiers. Now our Military would battle but most likely lose if the used swords

  • @BudPeters44

People have definitely gotten softer over the centuries. Soft living and technology will erode a man's natural aggression. As early as the American Civil War, soldiers would flee at the very suggestion of having to go cold steel with the enemy.

Can you imagine running against a wall of people waiting to put a foot or two of solid steel into your ribs, your lungs?

Now that's a lot more terrifying than getting shot IMO.

Even worse is having to deal out the same cold steel death.

  • yeah ,you had to be brave to be a soldier in those days..specialy the front line...

  • @Ecthelion008 You are wrong. In modern wars death is random, and can occur at any instant. Every single soldier has the sickle over their heads.

In ancient wars you were only likely to be killed if you were on the front lines. Avoiding death was a matter of skill, not random chance.

I would say it is alot harder to be a soldier today than it was in ancient times.

  • @fluff125

Actually, no. In pre-modern times, all the way to WWI, the biggest killer of soldiers was not the weaponry of the enemy, but disease and starvation. Those things are much more random than artillery shells or airstrikes.

  • @BudPeters44 I think Marines can take on anyone else but Rome. Romans were disciplined. They fought in phalanx formation except without spears.

  • @BudPeters44 How true those men and women were built better for those harsh times.

  • @BudPeters44

Indeed, soldiers must've been very strong willed. Imagine fighting a battle in the 18th century, marching shoulder to shoulder being shot at by hundreds of muskets and cannons.

  • @TheDarkFrontier no doubt knowing that being stuck with arrows or cut witch blades takes longer to die and they knew the pain would have to be endured greatly cause they did not have the medics and medicine we have today..truly tough soldiers strong minds and very brave.peace

  • @BudPeters44 Very Well said!!!! Thats the truth written! They were more brave than any other soldier of history!!!

  • @BudPeters44 give them a tank and see if they could drive it

  • @kaya17able yeah that might take them a few days to figure out..But give our Soldiers a Sword and a shield and lets see is he is willing to die by it..Knowing their is no doctors,no medacine once your hurt if you cannot walk you just lay and die..Im nou putting down our Soldiers im just saying what courage these soldiers had back then.

  • hannibal lost because he wasnt in control...the senate didnt support him but alexander....he rules macedon so...
