i read this book last year and LOVED it. but i am JUST findin out that there is a movie and it suprised me even more that kristen stewart played melissa. speak is one of my favorite books. the book made me tear up.. i havent seen the movie yet but i hope its just as good.!

Two Fav. emotional parts. right in the beginning where she's looking at herself in the mirror..emotionless but inside she's hurting..and the eyeliner in her lips which represents her being silent..and the other scene where she is walking alone in the street crying, reckless, that killed me :[

I can't imagine playing such a dark role when you're only fourteen years old. I asked my mom about it, and she said that Kristen's parents probably told her to remember that the guy wasn't really hurting her, she was just acting like he was, but still... That would be hard to play that kind of role. LOVED THE MOVIE.

I watched this yesterday and I was crying through most of it. I don't really know why. I've never been in this situation before but I've definitely had trouble with speaking out and telling people what's going on in my mind. Then suddenly you just break down... you can't bottle things in forever. I guess that's why this movie this movie hit home for me, because I have a tendency to bottle things in. Great movie and great video though!

the movie is about a girl who was at a party and called the cops on it, so now everyone hates her and basically shunned her when she was starting high school.

so through the whole book/movie you see melinda start to recall everything that happened over the summer and starts to become herself again. i guess, its a horrible review but the book and the movie were very great.
