People keep saying there's no feeling - that's not it at all. Fluency is obviously the issue here (listen for hesitations and botched notes), and any experienced player should know that. The guy may well be feeling all there is to feel, but you can't judge that because he doesn't have the requisite mastery over the instrument to let everything out. It's baseless and insulting to claim that he's some kind of guitar playing robot who isn't feeling the music.

not really, if u know about music and u have a blues in E u should play in E in A in B etc etc... and play with the sevenths, minor thirds and stuff, and and have some kind of variation in what u play, cos otherwise, it sounds the same.

This song is E. Clapton goes between E minor and E major when he improvises. Which is called Parallel Major/Minor. If you were in the key of Em the 1st position of E major (relative major) of E would start on the B. If you were to start both scales (major/minor) on E, than you would start on the 2nd position on the major pentatonic, or the 1st postition on on E, which is Em.

And By the "A" and "G" notes I guess your referring to the notes on which the modes begin on?

@kingjoemom it has more major than minor. you hear the minor stuff in there, yes, but Clapton, himself, played in major keys more than minor. he also could have been switching between Emaj and Gmaj which would make it sound like Eminor/Emaj parallel.

Clapton is awesome anyhow even though i think Stevie Ray Vaughan is better (my opinion). :)
