@MegaBasti1991 No that is not true. This was installed by me for some friends for their aging father who sadly only got to use it once. Recently this same house has flooded with 3 feet of water from hurricane Irene, I just finished putting the flooded out house back all together on Friday.
In this particular sub-division , there are probably 35 out of 450 house with elevators and they have a ground floor and 2 floors above that. I go up and down 3 flights of stairs all day long with no elevator
Was that bang just after you opened the door your chin hitting the floor as your mouth dopped open at the size of the elevator? Because mine certinly did lol
Made with (diminutor) mechanism and CAME gate motor and i made this with my grandfather. My can going up with 50 kg maximum(i don't know how lbs for 50 kg) and no button but remote control. It's just a piece of wood, not an elevator with doors and wall. But yours is very beautiful. Do youlike elevator, or it's a real need in your house?
@kingelevator62 This elevator I installed for owners of this house who are getting older , but also the elevator adds to the value of a house. I work at this house and use this elevator all the time...she still works great!! 50 KG=110lbs. or 2.2lbs per 1 KG. peace OG
@kingelevator62 Just the cost for the elevator, which has a capacity of 850lbs. And is big enough for wheel chair with person behind it is.......$12,000 to $14,000 USD depending on options, interiors ect.. Thanks- OG Ps, I would love to see the one you made for $400.00.
I work for ThyssenKrupp Access. This is a LEV elevator built by ThyssenKrupp. They also have a new gearless elevator the Volant which is virtually silent. cool stuff!
@theogger I figured it was Thyssenrupp, looks like it could be Thyssnekrupp access, I have a video of a Residential elevator, on my channel, but it was not in operation, it has the same fixutres
There is nothing special holding the door back? Strange I have the same one as I mentioned earlier and it keeps springing back closed from the open position. You did a nice job the shaft must be straight it seems very smooth.
ThyssenKrupp, It is residential chain driven. I have since finished my second elevator build/remodel and it turned out great, Thanks for the comment!! OG
No, it is a manual operated accordion door, basic, it is plastic and when first installed they are kind of stiff but stay in the opened position when opened then to close it has a little magnet on it that holds it closed, There is a electro/mechanical switch for safety located on top of the car. Hope this helps.
This is a Thyssenkrupp LEV. They make it in a rope hydo version but just stop making it. To bad, i just put one of the last one they made in mauil. Good elevator.
Sorry to hear they quit making the hydro one, I just finished building a shaft and installing my second LEV. The shaft is attached to the outside of the house and really is quieter than this shaft which I made on the inside of an existing house.
Hi Chris, Yes it is noisy it is an electric elevator chain driven, There are 2 other type of drive systems available that are quieter, an electric/hyrolic and one that is very new to the market is a electric/torsion coated cable that from what I understand is so smooth and so quiet it has to have lights and bells so you know the thing stopped at a floor! These are residential elevator keep in mind.
I am doing another elevator project coming up soon and I am trying to get them to pick the super quiet one! It's about $26,000 usa depending on options. In a nut shell I think also my camera has a sensitive mic on, Though it is not super quiet It is not really as loud as it appears. Thanks for the comment, OG
My parents put the same elevator in my house when we built it (for no reason) sounds the same so i wondered if it was thyssenkrupp and it has the same specs but the panneling is different. Its noisy but smooth
This is a Thyssenkrupp, This model is the largest residential elevator, Deep enough for a wheel chair with a person behind it. Its noisy but smooth like you said. I understand the straighter the wall that the guide track mounts on the smoother the elevator. I single handedly framed this 3 story shaft in an exising house! My clients moved into the house last week, and they are pleased with the elevator. I will try to get more video of it up soon!! Take care- OG
This is a Thyssenkrupp chain driven, I built the shaft single handed. I am a contractor in NC. I am proud of this project and I am still working at this house. Thanks for the interest!!
Please consult an expert. I just build them. Thanks, OG

Can the interlock be undone from inside the shaft by hand, or do you need a key or can it only be opened from outside?

Quiet operation ? A tornado ripping thru the house, or a locomotive going thru the living room would have been quieter.
