Don has such a plaine grave marker. I wonder if this was his wish? I have seen some celebrity stones that had thier face on the stone, pictures of guitars, and some deep poem or funny saying like "I Told You I Was Sick." Here is a Find a grave picture of this stone. So close to the road, no fanfair. I guess when we go, there is no special dirt that any of us will go into. In the words of Beverly Hillbillies character Jed Clampett "Dirt is Dirt!.
@Kaffyboy my dad just passed over 2 years ago,,he has no headstone either, but that dont make it rite,,,but roy orbisons family can affort 4 him a headstone
@nene72744 It's sad. You'd think that the estate of Roy Orbison could afford it though, after all, he was a hugely successful singer. Perhaps it's Roy's wishes he not have a headstone. The great sctor Lon Chaney is buried in Forest Lawn, Glendale, and he has no headtone either...but it is thought that this was his wish.
Wow this is sad from a man that was so talented and barney Fife, the all time best by far. His accomplishments should be noted much better than this. I go to a large grave yard all the time and take time to read the names the dates what they might have done and why they may have passed if younger. It really makes you think and feel.
Where is he buried? It would be nice to visit and pay respects. Since others have mentioned their favorite Don Knotts' films, here are mine: The Reluctant Astronaut (opening scenes are hilarious!), The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (title tells it all!), and the Incredible Mr. Limpett.
Are u kidding me? THIS is his grave? No lengthy engravement or anything about his life or career?? C'mon, man. The man was a god of the entertainment industry.
No disrespect but who showed you how to use a camcorder?..now my neck hurst thanks to you!..i wanted to cuss you out but i held back!..take a camera lesson or two!
One minute and 53 seconds of a grave is a bit long. I mean what did you expect, that the stone would fly away? Seriously, Mr. Knotts was a funny man that I loved wtaching on Three's Company!
Are you sure that is his real grave and not someone with the same name? If so, is that the best the family could do for the man? I mean, after all... He is a comedic legend! He deserves a bigger memorial than that little headstone...
You'd think that his stone would be differen't for some reason. Considering he was a legend and 5x emmy winner you'd imagine he would have a big stone with a bunch of stuff written all over it. Oh, well, RIP Don.
Don Knotts was a comic technician. Peerless in his field. He certainly brought a lot of joviality to my childhood and early adult years. Roll on, Barney!
MY dad told me how he woiuld watch this show at my age and always laugh as a family. he got me interestedin the show about 3 months before the death of Don Knotts. when i heard that he had passsed away i was pretty shocked... He was true comedian. R.I.P
It makes me want to cry to see this. Don Knotts will always have a special place in my heart. I watched him along with the rest of my family when I was growing up. He made me laugh, he even made me cry from laughing so much. I love you, Mr. Knotts. Rest in peace. I'm sure you're giving God a good laugh up there, but we sure do miss you down here.
Absolutely nothing. I love WV. Beautiful state with awesome mountains. Don Knotts is from Morgantown, and I hope to see a statue of him up soon there. I also LOVE hillbillies, seeing as I am one!
Why did they place his marker sideways? I hope you were joking. Here's a question. If a bird dies in mid-air, who's 'gonna climb up there to bring it down?!
GABESHEDD did you seriously just ask that question, did it not cross your mind that the person with the camera is just standing to the side of his grave and not directly facing it... WOW... wow
Did you seriously just ask that question as tp why they placed his marker vertically??? Did it not cross your mind that the person with the camera is standing to the side of Don Knotts grave instead of directly in front of it... wow dude...Wow
Don Knotts seemed like a very down to earth, humble person despite his immense fame and talent. No one like him will ever come around again, may he Rest in Peace.
Videos like this makes me cry. I hate death. Why do people have to die? We've lost so many great and wonderful actors and actresses. Don Knotts was so funny. He alway's reminded me of my Grandpa (though my Grandpa would feel like hitting me if he heard me say that. LOL!) Rest in Peace Don. I'm sure you already are.
His grave now continues to show that even when he's gone, just a simple kind and gentle spirit. Good luck up there buddy, you made billions of people so happy, and that will only continue now that you left us!
Well think of it this way,... maybe he didn't want an elegant gravestone, because that wasn't him in real life, so why in after life?
Just a simple nice man, (but to us an endless iconic legend) of course we want to see this massive statue sculpture of ol' Barn. ...was very down to earth, and level headed, just real and simple,..and I think that's what he's trying to show us now.
"The Simple Things in Life really are always the Best!"
I am glad to know where he has been laid to rest. It is nice to see it and pay my virtual respect. He was so funny, they don't make them like him anymore. Wish I would have thought of sending a thank you to him while he was alive. Will enjoy watching the reruns. Last night in Portland, there were multiple episodes back to back, so that was fun. Thanks Don!a
One of the greatest, most funny actors ever. I watch the Andy Griffith Show every night before bed, it's just so relaxing and calming. So sad to know he's gone, but I apprecite the opportunity to see his grave. Such a small grave marker though.

He deserves a very tall and great marker that stands out like he did. What an awesome actor. His marker should also say, "Nip it in the bud".
