  • Is this version available for download anywhere? haven't been able to track it down! :^(

  • This song reminds me of parting in the early eighties doin' things I probably shouldn't have been doin'! LOL!

  • listen also to TKA ONE WAY LOVE 1986

  • great bass, bajo estupendo...

  • Morriseey doing disco? That is one of the most rediclous comparisons I've ever heard, lol

  • I'm surprised to hear someone say this 12 is that rare...I did not think that at all. I've had a couple of extra copies and pretty much had to give them away. Wicked wicked tune nonetheless.

  • Now don't U think as me being a D.J. Not having this GR8 song :-)

I still have it & I've uploaded the Razormaid Remix

  • Why so few views for such a masterpiece from the 80's?

  • I also grew up in LA area back in 70's. What the hell happened to good music like this? Don't forget about Rodney on the Roq

  • I also grew up in LA area back in 70's. What the hell happened to good music like this?

  • To that 1 dislike...us likes will hunt you down! LOL.

  • 1984....my first trip to California. At this point in life, it was the only place in the West to get "New Wave Music". I heard this song on 106.7 KROQ with Jed the Fish. I ended up moving to So-Cal and enjoyed all of the best music on KROQ. God Bless all of the great DJs in that time....Freddie Snakeskin....Ramando....April....Richard Blade....Poorman....and you Jed!!

  • The 80's were shit, right! Or were they? This sounds like Morrissey doing disco.

    A great song.

  • @shaunsk Only thing shit about was the 80s was Morrissey mate, at least the early 80s. It all turned to shit when him and his retro-rocking idiots got going

  • AnythingBut1966 Thanks for the Blancmange Blind Vision Good memories to this track Cheers !

  • This is what my beloved Cabaret Voltaire would have sounded like if they hadn't been allergic to melody! Great track by an almost forgotten band or so I had thought. Glad to see I was wrong. For those that are interested they have just released a brand new album titled Blanc burn. Really!

  • Why isn't this song on itunes? Oh well, they have Miley Cyrus.

  • good post thanks

  • what a great song...... F N awesome

  • In my best Butthead voice...'He said it's getting harder'.....

  • This is fabulous ... remember buying the maxi single in 1983!!! Thank you!

  • Ahhh.. the good ol' days of KROQ. ROQ OF THE 80'S. Living in LA back in the day was awesome. Sucks that I live in Glendale, AZ now. Oh well.

  • @sjdrifter72

He,he,he .... yes indeed - Rodney Bingenheimer, Jed the Fish and Freeze Disease .... the 321 Club in Santa Monica and The Palace in Hollywood and the best music in the world ... :)

  • this is the dogs gonads!thanks for posting

  • Still sounds brilliant even after all these years.

  • how amazing is that bloody base???!!!!!

  • I'm an 80's music fan, been since I was born I guess ;-)

What a joy is to find a "new" band which I hadn't heard before until I saw one commercial with the song Living on the ceiling, and from that I started browsing other songs by Blancmange. LOVING IT!!! This song is a masterpiece!

  • i still have this vinyl!

  • Brilliant just brilliant

  • One of the best UK 12 inch remixes of the early 80's.I can still get my groove on to this. They had a sound that was more organic, funky and multiculturalism aware than many of the synth/ futurist bands around at that time.Awesome shit-thanks for posting!

  • The 80s where the best times!! Thanks to youtube we can turn the clock back and enjoy the best of the 80s

  • Prodigy with the song called Narayan from the album Fat of the land , is using the same rhytme that is used in this song. Thieves! :/

Just listen to the intro in both songs. They are incredible similar!

  • Got this on vynil...judging by the crackles you have too...THANKS...love it to bits.

In fact I have everything, albums, 12" singles...most on the old parlaphone label..does that still exist...??? HMV..??

Thanks for the post. My fave is still Vishnu extended on the B side of That's Love that it is 12 inch...

    Cheers all.

  • Still a remarkable song after this many years. I have not found it anywhere for download. Indie 103 came close but there will never be another KROQ or another explosion of creativity like punk and new wave. R.I.P.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • I lived in L.A. during the last half of the 80's and KROQ was indeed the greatest Alternative station ever. I lived in San Diego when this was released and it was hourly for several months. I have the 12" vinyl and wouldn't part with it for anything.

If you're a 80's KROQ-er, the have a separate stream for just the 80's at their online site.

Music is pretty dead these days, that's for sure. Interpol is about the last alternative band I've faved ....

  • i love this song so much!!!

  • As well as the import 12" single, I have the Razormaid Remix if you'd like me to upload it?

  • @esacnitsuj1

    Already did :-)

  • what happened to these guys, they were so good?

  • What a great band! I loved hearing their songs on the radio. For some reason they remind me of summer time. I agree with some other commentors - the song still sounds great. Just proves good music never sounds dated, no matter the technology used to create it.

  • this dtill sounds great, check out that slappin bass groove awesome!!!!

  • i grew up in clyedbank scotland, got my haircut just like this dude 1983 what a song.just love it.

  • the other important thing for fans of this great track is that in the mid 80s I saw in a UK records import catalogue an advertisement for a promotional 12" of Blind Vision that contained three versions - the standard 9minute 12" mix, the standard 7" version but also another version about 6 and a half minutes long - anyone ever heard that mix? if you've got it, please post it. i neglected to order it and have wondered for 25 years what it's like!

  • a video for this 12" mix? that would be great. one of the most masterful 12" mixes ever made. owned the 12" since released in 83. among many things, one of the things i love about it is how the intro keeps alternating between cold vs funky (0.09 - 0.50). love the bass grunt at 0.24. classic track from a great band. produced lots of great stuff, tho i feel they let their interest in mellow pop get too much control towards the end, should have kept pursuing that cold funk groove a bit more.

  • Awesome - thanks for posting. Love this.

  • Dark tune? hell ya! truly awesome song I remember when this first came out and it blew me away great track thanks Anythingbut1966

  • "it's getting harder now, it's getting hard"

    2 questions:

    1. How long before this pops up in an ad for male sexual enhancement pills?

    2. Was there even a video for the extended version? The drugs hadn't taken effect on me in the eighties and I don't remember there being a video for this. In fact as I remember it videos for extended versions of most songs were very rare, few and far between...

  • Does anyone know what drum machine is used for this track?

  • Briliant horns section on this song.

  • 9 and a half minutes of awesomeness

  • I had this on colored vinyl- white I think. Memory is getting dim.

  • Dark 80s tune! Superb!

  • love the horns on this track.

  • Think this ones rare, try finding a copy of Concentration baby. by them.

  • Phenomenally phat!

  • WOW

  • One of the best from the new wave age and truly a classic from the 80's. Thx for posting. Can't wait to see the long version video.

  • One of the best tracks of the 80s. Pure class.

  • just glad you made this available!!!!

  • @God4Dunoon i thiought this was 1983 i remember it cos i was a teenager then 19 y old

  • OK....?

  • burning dancefloor 1982 !!!

  • Forgot how good this was! Absolute fucking class! The music kind of reminds me of David Byrne and Brian Eno's collaboration album , only better.

  • Can't call yourself a true 'New Waver' from the 80s without including this absolute gem in your collection!!! Pure gold.....

  • Love it !

  • thank you for this TRACK!!!!!

  • used to have this 12" back in the 80's. haven't heard this version since then. its peeling the top of my skull off!

  • Thanks be to Allah I grew up in fucking Los Angeles in the early 80's...

  • estoy en peru lima y escuche esta cancion de blancmange en 1980 , LO MAXIMO TAL COMO LA RECUERDO EN VERCION LARGA GRACIAS ..

  • Great song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song, I grew up in LA and they used to play it alot on KROQ. I don't know what happened to music since then, each decade it seems to get worse than the last.

  • yeah kroq progressively got worse. unfortunately, i still listen to it in the hopes that the music they play will eventually redeem them

  • it makes a comeback, but in television adverts, still, atleast now my sister likes some real music "living on the ceiling", it used to be lily allen and all the other crap, now she listens to anything from Elvis Costello to Simply Red!

  • kroq was bought by clear channel and went to complete shit in 92-93

    everything c.c. touches, is ruined.

  • @joedope00 I feel ya! truly! I grew up on KROQ. what has happened to quality alternative with depth. like awesome new romantic, new wave was. Duran Duran had so much more sound quality, writing quality and depth, then who they toss out as any sort of boy band today.

  • @joedope00 KROQ the best station in the world and this song numeruno 1

  • @joedope00 Brother you got that right! I used to listen to KROQ in the 80's (not so much lately), and I remember this song well. One of my old favorites.

  • @joedope00 I remember KROQ when I 1st heard the Blancmange track and saw this NEW Punk Rock Grrrl Blonde spiked hair dark eyes with blk mesh top blk suspenders blk pants & pointy shoes dancing perfectly to this... That did it for me ;) Woof ! Woof ! ;))

As a dj for many years each genre has had its music and dancers with Style Xpression :) I always look forward to the next Fix !

  • @joedope00 wow I grew up in LA listening to KROQ Also 1978 is when i started listening to KROQ

  • One'a the best trax ever - along with 12" of "Game above my head"

  • A...Amazing!

  • So alive you wouldnt be able to keep still listening to this in a club etc.. So much better than most of the shite of today. You could her it today and it would still be massive....

  • Stunning in its brilliance

  • What year guys ?

  • 1984, mate.

  • Did they last until 88 ?

  • yes they went until late 80s with remixes i think.

  • Actually, 1983.

  • At this very moment, my dad and I are listening to this dirge (In my opinion anyway but I am a rocker myself and this just isn't my type of music) and my dad is loving every bit of it. I guess if I was around during this time I would like it too :)

  • true words mate.....different generation.and when u have children yourself,i'm sure they wont like ur music....circle of life...lol.

  • Buen tema, buen grupo exponente de la new wave.

  • fantastic!!! the 80s had the best music.

  • One of the first songs I heard after moving to Los Angeles. Hooked on this style of music ever since. Now I have to subscribe to satellite radio (or listen here) for this kind of music.
