i guess nothings a guarantee. i have 2.4 ghtz and 3 times lost connection. of course i was high up to the clouds but connection should have been stable. i guess you don't know. you got some height with your SL.
i know the feeling - :( as just last week i lost my best sailplane exactly the same way. i had a cam going and i think it was the main battery connector coming off. (it yard darted in 8 inches!) Onward and upward.... ill make another.... my best...
my friends plane crashed because of the signal. he changed his to 2.4 ghz and flew the next week. while flying a guy comes out ranting and raving trying to provoke something. now we know who caused the crash. sorry for your crash but keep flying as we all crash. cheers
Yea tell me about it. I just lost my twin star 2 on a futaba 10 cg 2.4 ghz.. And I can not tell you why it lost control. It lost the connection and never gained it back. I think I have some serious interference where I live. The only thing I can think that could have happended is the antenna was pointed straight at it or I over amped the transmitter. I was only running 4 servos though.. Not sure what happened. Im going to now go to a new 433 mhz radio. And hope that works.
@Gezelem2002 do you know if any one in your area has a 2.4 ghz phone in your area my friend said he was at his grandmas house and someone called her while he was flying and it caused it to do something much like that. and it turned out hat she had a 2.4 ghz phone I don't think they even make them any more because now they have 6.0 ghz phones and that band is to small to interfere with it. but I am just telling you what happened and that might be a possibility of what happened.
I have heard the same things about 2.4 gig. I bought my son had a little 2.4 ghz foam park flyer & it twitched like mad nomatter what I did :/ I run a Futaba 9 C Super & JR XF 421never had any problems....... Yet lol
You might send your transmitter back. I have a Spektrum DX7 and have had the RF board go out twice now. The company replaced the board twice but I have lost a total of three planes to the problem. One more time and I will buy Futaba. Has anyone else had the same problem ?
Yea thanks for the tip. I have sent it back now. They did some update to the RX / TX.
I lost 3 slow sticks due to this problem as well. I now Own a Futaba T10 CAG. I also know a few other people that are have the same issues as Billyd4444 is one and rcfoamfighters is another that have Specktrum issues as well and I ve seen a few others as well. Not sure whats going on. I still own my DX7 but might sell it to get more recievers for my futaba. I really like it. Thanks.
can´t believe that a 2,4ghz-system failed!all those rc-forums are talking about how safe they are and so far and so on.but it seem, that the good old 35mhz which exists already a ton of years, does "not" have these problems.
at least your plane didn´t hit no humans and no cars or something.
That was a really fast slow stick - sad to see it hit the ground at full speed like that. I have that same radio receiver, I need to check to see if it needs the firmware update.
The plane when it lost control was only 200 ft or less from me when it lost connection. The is a firm issue with ar6100 reciver that needs an upgrade so it have to be sent back to the manufacturer to have the upgrade. Distance was not the cause of the crash. The radio and reciever will go 1 Mile and then some. This was interferance and fail safe failed to reconnect. Ive had it plenty farther than this and nothing has happened. Check out my other videos and see. Thanks for watching.
Too bad that the plane crashed. Strange that you just lost the connection.
What do you like with this plane? I'm thinking about getting one myself. How did you mount the camera on the plane, and how did this affect the flight dynamics of the plane?
This is awsome plane and great begginer plane as well. I bought a stick of thin aluminum at Lowes and made the frame around the camera to hold it. It flys really well with the camera just have to adjust the center of gravity a bit and you should be go to go . check out my other videos and you can see how I mounted the camera. If you need I can e-mail a pictures of how I did it in more detail if needed.
What a beautiful area! Really nice vid, too bad about the plane and batteries. You can tell the SS got some real speed going down, it was shaking!

How big were the 4 servos you were running? I have heard when running 4-6 servos they need to be 9g or less.
I just got a DX6i to ensure I dont have crap like this happen. Im hoping you were running full size monster servos or something. LOL
I have a GWS SS too BTW. Sorry to see you stuffed your lipo. Did you blow it up? :)
