I saw Johnny in Stanhope NJ at the stanhope house he was wonderful, I got to sit down with him after the show on his bus/camper. He was kind friendly and has a great sense of humor.
He still has it !!! I am a performer also and sometimes you don't have your best nights. His band are all pro's and nice people. God Bless you Jw you are a great person first !
I saw Johnny in a concert tonight. He's a genuine legend... but he should stop playing now. We left the concert after 10 minutes. It was the worst thing I ever heard...I'm sorry for him.
I saw Johnny in 75 and again in 2007. In response to the poster who stated John was not very talkative.....Johnny is lucky to be alive. He's had several strokes over the past 8-10 years and he has fought back gallantly....playing with the dexterity of a 25 year old. He's an amazing man and artist. Annnd, has never gotten his due or the respect he has so dearly earned. He is a master blues man. Dang right....Long Live Johnny!!! RD
went to see Johhny and Rick at the greenville memorial auditorium in greenville S.C. 197hellifiknow my damn ears are still ringing! not many people showed up, but it didnt stop these guitar slingers from blowing off the roof! meantown blues session went on forever Rick had to step back cause Johnny took off!!!!!! Tell me is there any one slide ass master of the guitar that can touch this prodigal Son?
the Great Johnny Winter...seen him a few times, the best was at the Filmore East 71 with Rick Derringer, I forgot who opened up first The Allman Bros classic live recording then he and Elvin Bishop followed forgot in what order, had 4th row, middle seat cost then abt 4 bucks the most...lost the program which sucks...glad Johnny got straight from Junk...High Way 51 he kills it with slide....love Johnny with Muddy also

As I had said, Johnny and Edgar are national treasures (like Ray Charles) and should be treated as such.
