I'm going to college from september (not university, I'm in uk so its like a school u go to before uni) anyway .... I have a little 10" screen samsung notebook and I was wondering if maybe I should take it to school and stuff and then buy iMac or should I buy a macbook pro and take it to college and use it for my personal things 2... Mainly video editing etc. So should I stick to my notebook for college and buy iMac for my personal use .... What do you think ... Any suggestions?
@xStrawberryPringles If you want to use your laptop at school, you should pick up the 11'' or 13'' MacBook Air 'cause it only weighs about 1kg. So not too heavy ;)
BUT the processor is about 1,4 GHz, so if you want some more power, go on and buy the 13'' or 11'' Macbook Pro. I see no reason why you should have 2 computers with a different OS. So go for the MacBook and throw your Samsung out of the window.. ;)
Was planning on buying an macbook pro till I saw their pricing for a 15-inch. Unbelievably high, considering its specs. If you're looking for a portable apple device, either get an ipad or macbook air. If you're planning on doing more, than get an imac.
@justibisnotfag obviously the 6970 but dont buy a mac for gaming i have a custom windows pc i use for gaming and a mac for everyday things, if u want gaming go for a custom u can get an i7 sandy bridge and top of the line pc parts for about 70% of what an mac would cost
I'm a student, and I'm wondering which to choose for school?
iMac has much larger screen, but I can't bring my iMac to class, and Macbook Pro has smaller screen but I can bring it to school. I really don't know which one to choose because they cost the same. Another question is, how is the editing (iMovie) on a Macbook?
Is it fast or laggy? Because I really enjoy filming and editing, therefore I want a relatively fast mac. Thanks in advance.
@ESPERANZAFILMS If you're a student. Get a Macbook Pro. They're great for education and stuff like that. (I own one myself) And iMovie is not laggy at all, so don't worry about it. ^^
@ESPERANZAFILMS i don't know if you already bought it but if not i will say the macbook pro 13 inch, i have one and it is perfect for school, it is not laggy al all, it is also a good idea to use final cut pro for editing( if you can deal with the price of course)
I can't wait to a Macbook pro or a iMac, I'm going to get one of them with a Intel i7 processor and at least 8GB of ram and if I get the iMac I most likely will upgrade the ram to 16GB so I can edit HD video.
I need some help to find where I should save my money: the iMac, the Mac mini or the MacBook Pro. You see, I would play games on it which means I would need a CD Drive to read games which i know the Mac mini doesn't have. I would need portability though that would be unnecessary if I can sell this XP I'm using that would clear desktop space. Just so you know I'm not an adult.
Currently i have a am toshiba laptop and going to sell it. im interested in editing and am going to purchase a mac at about christmas time. which mac should i get? i kind of need portability but i would like a decent sized screen... HELP?! also.. when does the new mac line come out because that would possibly change my decision and what new features will it have?
1. Enrty level of an iMac much faster than top level of macbookpro
2. macbookpro's much expensive than iMac's.
3. nobody dont need that "portable & highend machines" if you need connect to the internet, listen to do music or check your mails on travel you can use ipod, ipad or your cell phone.
@fuzzysmile21 You're only 11 years old and you're getting a Mac? Well, there isn't a Mac for kids, but there are different models. You gotta know which type of computer you want: laptop or desktop.
@fuzzysmile21 Macbook pro 13, is a good size or screen.
It is very fast, and it will resist a lot, my first mac, the one i`m using now is an aluminum macbook, macbook pro was to expensive at that time jaja, and it can get scrachi and the back, but is really good!!
You can also get a macbook air, but is more expensive as entry model, and well, you need to be and be soround of delicate people.
Also, you can use the super drive unit for burn cd`s for the school and stuff like that,
@fuzzysmile21 depending on what you need it for i would suggest a macbook pro
there is barely a difference, except in gaming and very little in hd video editing, between it and the imac. plus its a little easier to upgrade. And i know you and i both want to go anywhere and use it unlike adults and using it in the office.
But take the mac mini into consideration. its the same speed and its 600 bucks cheaper
"If you are looking for portability, you are better off with the MBP" - "Actually at 4.5 lbs, its not great for portability" Are you as indecisive when you are choosing other stuff to buy? Also 4.5lbs isn't that heavy, and when we talk about portability we talk about how the computer would feel in, say, a laptop bag. You wouldn't carry it around all day by holding the corner like you did with the lid open.
my webcam on my new 27" imac wont work now, it says the Facetime HD camera is there on the system profiler but when i open applications to use it (Photobooth, Skype, iChat) it says there is no camera connected. if anyone can help or has had the same problem, please contact me. thank you
Lots of people today want portability and so comparison videos are very helpful but for people such as myself, it is nice to have a choice. At the end of the day it depends on your personal needs. If you want portability a macbook air is the best way to go but for more power on the go then a macbook pro is better. I think the imac is best for home and small office use. Nice video
Ideally, if you had the money, you'd get an iMac and a MacBook Air/Pro. The thing is, although the iMac may be a better all round machine, in today's world it's so handy to be able to take your computer with you, well it is for me anyway. Good video!
@23joshman1 Hi, while that is true, you have the option to choose either the Magic Mouse or the Trackpad free with your iMac. An additional Trackpad would be $69. Sorry if we weren't clear.
Thank you very much for doing this video :) it was great. it really helped me a lot, it showed me total size comparison of the macbook pro and the imac, I have a 13.3" macbook and am getting the $1499 imac shortly. my 24" Asus monitor is huge and kinda makes the 21.5" imac look a little small, buuut, now that I know exactly how big the imac actually is compared to my macbook and 24" monitor I am even more excited to get my hands on my own iMac :D 5/5*!
Thumbs up if you paused the video to try and catch his/her in the reflection of the macbook to try and figure out if its a he or a she !
