he didnt actually have a red ring his main process chip or something else probably went wrong when something like that happens it didnt overheat which is the true red ring, you juat turn it off turn it on and it works and will continue working normal until you play for about 1-2 hours then you will get "red ring" and juat turn off turn on and it should work

people this is how u fix it push the power button for 15 times or more then when u think your done wait for 5 seconds turn it on propaly then it will work and second after if u use the play and charge kit it will make the xbox 360 freeze and get the red ring so best thing use it wireless if this doesent work u will need to open good luck!!!!
