@cocodiloki I didn't get that at all. I got that she actually wanted to make people happy, but the way she figures this is that people are happiest dreaming, so she'll put them in eternal sleep. It's a demented slant on what could have been a nice ideal. Much like some lyrics in Rotten Girl Grotesque Romance is truly from a sweet girl who knows unrequited love, but goes about it like a crazed stalker. Or much like Judgment of Corruption, where he does think he's doing good too by his daughter.
@SerenityM16: Well, that doesn't really contradict my interpretation. She DID want to make people happy, but still took the lazy way out in doing so, just deciding to put them to happy sleep for all time instead of interacting with them in a way that makes them happy while alive. This is probably the most difficult of the songs to understand, or that makes it's sin obvious. "Sloth" is defined as complete emotional apathy. I thought 'Sloth' would be about Miku being lazy to do things, but altogether the song was really good, and with the English lyrics I really understand what's going on :)

@upupipipupipup this is just my guess but im gonna say that since kaito is greed in evils theater (see judgement of corruption for kaito's greed song) and greed is a excessive desire for a variety of things not just money that kaito wanted lots of women in his life too. Therefore i think that kaito just wanted them around so that he could have many women in his possesion and he didn't use the girls for the same things that Gakupo (lust) would have.

I really do like the first couplet when her voice changed pitches, trying to convince herself. I'm disappointed that it didn't appear again; it was strong and I don't think the refrain was really that powerful. Yet that kept popping up more then it should have.
Miku doesn't have much of a strong, powerful voice and I think she was a bit blended out. I...guess that represents sloth as well, but it dissapoints me. I think they could have told us more information about her life as well.

Well, there are only 7 Japanese Vocaloid guys as of right now, and Piko, Kiyoteru, Gachapoid, and VY2 hadn't come out yet when Mothy announced who was going to sing each song. And even then, Len can't fit into older roles. So Mothy didn't really have a lot of options. ^_^

I think it's sloth because Miku's solution to everything was "sleep". By using the "gift" to sleep, not just Miku but everyone took the easy way out by trying to "sleep" through their own problems.

The constant inattention of a man who only wanted her money and status made her apathetic too, so she kills everyone around her including the husband. I give Akuno credit for trying to portray it: Sloth is hard to do. I liked it better watching it again though.
The other ones have been better done. The PV for greed isn't even out yet, and the whole kit and kaboodle for Sloth came at once. I find that strange.
personally, i think this is more like wrath than sloth because Miku is saying she will put her love and everyone else to sleep because Kaito spurned her and exploited her. I still love the song though

@tenryuu The sleeping part is a trap.It doens't show laziness at all which is Sloth.The true part is Miku's ignoring Kaito's flaw,the fact that Kaito married her for the dowry and that is was a arranged marriage which is Apathy and the fact that she said she was broken long ago and kill everyone that commit suicide which was despair.Sadness lead to Acedia which in other term is Apathy.Kaito's way lead to her sadness and Apathy and Despair is part of Sloth.

She projects her tiredness on everyone else and sets that as her duty and works on that (which, ironically, is diligence, the virtue opposite to sloth). After her work is done there is nothing left to do, no life to enjoy. So she falls back into that slump and decides to sleep forever.

OH! And I forget to mention, I love how subtly creepy Mothy made this! This is one of only four songs that managed to make Miku seem convincingly evil to me. The other three are "Moonlit Bear", "Rotten Girl Grotesque Romance" and "Full Course for Candy-Addicts"!

Since we're giving interpretations, I think Miku is Sloth because she was a pushover. The other characters kept asking her to do things for her and she could never say "no", no matter how unreasonable the request. Eventually, they stopped asking and just assumed that their wish was her command. So, one day Miku snapped and decided that, since every decision was being made for her she can decide the fates of the others and doesn't have to care anymore.
I think she is being slothful because of the way she is killing everyone. Unlike the other songs that involved killing, she didn't go right out and murder them, such as in the Tailor Shop on Enbizaka, when Luka killed with scissors. She gave them a sleeping potion, which might have been painless. Idk that's what I think XD;

"Jury" is probably supposed to be read as "Julia", and is Meiko's character in the song (I don't know what role she serves, but it's probably in the text in-between verses).

I don't really like this song it's just not my style. But interesting story, I was expecting it was just going to be Miku complaining about doing stuff and then she would die because she was lazy. It also has a very lazy feel to it

@upupipipupipup this is just my guess but im gonna say that since kaito is greed in evils theater (see judgement of corruption for kaito's greed song) and greed is a excessive desire for a variety of things not just money that kaito wanted lots of women in his life too. Therefore i think that kaito just wanted them around so that he could have many women in his possesion and he didn't use the girls for the same things that Gakupo (lust) would have.

I really do like the first couplet when her voice changed pitches, trying to convince herself. I'm disappointed that it didn't appear again; it was strong and I don't think the refrain was really that powerful. Yet that kept popping up more then it should have.
Miku doesn't have much of a strong, powerful voice and I think she was a bit blended out. I...guess that represents sloth as well, but it dissapoints me. I think they could have told us more information about her life as well.

@LadyAmdis kaito is supposedly the 'leading role' in the 7th sin series, if you think about it long enough everything that happens actually leads back to him.
because he's trying to gather the 7 sins, which is sort of explained in heartbeat clock tower and judgment of corruption.

Well, there are only 7 Japanese Vocaloid guys as of right now, and Piko, Kiyoteru, Gachapoid, and VY2 hadn't come out yet when Mothy announced who was going to sing each song. And even then, Len can't fit into older roles. So Mothy didn't really have a lot of options. ^_^

I think it's sloth because Miku's solution to everything was "sleep". By using the "gift" to sleep, not just Miku but everyone took the easy way out by trying to "sleep" through their own problems.

@vampireangel1000 There are 5-6 way to commit gluttony,I will just make one example.By eating 3 bowl of rice when all you need to fill yourself is 1 and a 1/2 bowl,you need to buy another bag of rice faster.Due to that,you taking more than enough is depriving those who truly need the food and so on.In the case of the song for Gluttony,it is far worse.You will understand if you see it.

@avc1234 I I was unimpressed watching this in the first go-around. The constant inattention of a man who only wanted her money and status made her apathetic too, so she kills everyone around her including the husband. I give Akuno credit for trying to portray it: Sloth is hard to do. I liked it better watching it again though.
The other ones have been better done. The PV for greed isn't even out yet, and the whole kit and kaboodle for Sloth came at once. I find that strange.

personally, i think this is more like wrath than sloth because Miku is saying she will put her love and everyone else to sleep because Kaito spurned her and exploited her. I still love the song though

@tenryuu The sleeping part is a trap.It doens't show laziness at all which is Sloth.The true part is Miku's ignoring Kaito's flaw,the fact that Kaito married her for the dowry and that is was a arranged marriage which is Apathy and the fact that she said she was broken long ago and kill everyone that commit suicide which was despair.Sadness lead to Acedia which in other term is Apathy.Kaito's way lead to her sadness and Apathy and Despair is part of Sloth.

@Exorcistkanda I understand that. That is the definiton of Acedia. She decides to take the easy way out. She projects her tiredness on everyone else and sets that as her duty and works on that (which, ironically, is diligence, the virtue opposite to sloth). After her work is done there is nothing left to do, no life to enjoy. So she falls back into that slump and decides to sleep forever.

@YukihanaP No,Miku is a doctors dauggher.Her fiancee only want to marry Miku because he will get a fat dowry fromn it.She knows this but ignotres and loves him regardless,just like she ignored the fact that the marriage was arranged anyway so it wasnt even her choice.I think the reason she ended up killing evryone is because she,like I explained above,ignored all the things wich made her sad and angry ("I was broken long ago") wich caused her to snap eventually.

OH! And I forget to mention, I love how subtly creepy Mothy made this! This is one of only four songs that managed to make Miku seem convincingly evil to me. The other three are "Moonlit Bear", "Rotten Girl Grotesque Romance" and "Full Course for Candy-Addicts"!

Since we're giving interpretations, I think Miku is Sloth because she was a pushover. The other characters kept asking her to do things for her and she could never say "no", no matter how unreasonable the request. Eventually, they stopped asking and just assumed that their wish was her command. So, one day Miku snapped and decided that, since every decision was being made for her she can decide the fates of the others and doesn't have to care anymore.

I think she is being slothful because of the way she is killing everyone. Unlike the other songs that involved killing, she didn't go right out and murder them, such as in the Tailor Shop on Enbizaka, when Luka killed with scissors. She gave them a sleeping potion, which might have been painless. Idk that's what I think XD;

"Jury" is probably supposed to be read as "Julia", and is Meiko's character in the song (I don't know what role she serves, but it's probably in the text in-between verses).
