  • That thing is nuts. Too bad we'll never see it again save for a half-assed run up the hill at Goodwood.

  • I was so elated when they brought this very car to Long Beach in the spring of 2010. It was the most beautiful sounding car out of the whole lot.

My theory to it's high pitch is because it uses a road-going V-12 engine. The greater number of valves opening per second equals more vibrations a second equaling higher pitch.

  • My uncle had the enviable job of driving that car at Silverstone last year.

  • is this the 2010 race or the 2009 race. I cant remember but i was there at both the years these cars were around. shame they have replaced it with new car and made it disiel. that sound is the best car sound ever

  • @2willboi Aston's open top car is not a diesel. Aston Martin doesn't build diesel cars thus they will not race a diesel car. It has a inline 6 turbocharged engine. Muscle Milk in the ALMS still runs the V12 powered closed top car in the ALMS this year.

  • @bdrws6 oh cool so the sound of the car will be the same

  • @2willboi The Inline 6 gas(petrol) powered car won't sound anything like the V12, especially with the turbo. BUT the Muscle Milk ALMS car still has that glorious V12 scream yes.

  • @bdrws6 oh cool. i gotta start watching the ALMS more often now. hoopefully aston will win at le mans this year. the car is capable of doing it

  • @2willboi it would be nice to think the new car could win le mans but it or any of the petrol cars havnt got a hope in hell of beating the new audi's and peugeot's, yet again the diesel cars are much much faster

  • @maxilos1987 i think that what wil happen is the peugeot's will dominate the first part of the race then the audi's will respond and make acomeback but maybe the main audi will drop out and aston may end up passing the peugeot's and win.

  • @2willboi being le mans anything can happen but the new aston is having alot of problems so reliability could be the downfall, audi very rarely has problems and now that they are as fast as the peugeots i think le mans this year could be an audi domination again i dont think peugeot have the consistency to win, my prediction would be for aston martin to finish behind all the diesel cars except the private oreca peugeot
