  • Dang i didnt know Professor Snape knows how to play the Piano.....Props

  • wow !!

  • You sound great!

  • Whoa whoa whoa slowww dowwnn

  • I know this video is old as fuck but man you have a really great style, I've watched this video like 10 times today. It's just great man you should really make more of these things. I'm just starting out on piano and this vid is some great inspiration for me, thanks for making it!

  • Smoking is bad, hmkey

  • what song is the first part

  • wich vst are you using? xD

  • @rufogongora I think I used sampletank on this video, I now use Pianoteq

  • Hell yeah,, i want a piano teacher that smokes, being serious too. This dude rules

  • those people with long and big hands have soooooooooo much advantage

  • You sound like Snape from harry potter, no offense.

  • @emxiaks lol

  • @emxiaks No he sounds like Hans Gruber's brother in Die Hard (2/3), Jeremy Irons.

  • I didn't know that those basic cords could do so much, is anyway you can do a tutorial with your basic exercise

  • excellent! more excercise videos please.

  • omg you are so cool!!!!! you should perhaps play alittle slower so ppl (and when i say ppl i mean myself lol) can learn how the song your playing!!

  • "my tap is dripping"...lol

  • Haha

  • this was a very nice exercise vid.

it makes me wanna practice right away!

  • very cool

  • I too agree. Poor technique... he should fix that before it cause some physical damage. The bending in the wrist will lead to problems.

  • The idea is good , but , please make an other video with slower tempo . The goal is more to teach what you play rather that let the others admire tou .

  • Will people just stop harpin' on his fingering??

One you master the basics, deviating from the conventional fingering is not unusual, and you would still rarely go wrong. I mean, I can play a lot of fast pieces using very unusual fingering and I don't play a single wrong note.

Before I forget, a friendly note to beginners, use 1 3 5 fingering instead of his 1 2 3 for the right hand part.

Otherwise, this was a good tutorial. (P.s. how do you make the camera hang up there???)

  • This guy is way cool.

  • he's not trying to teach fingering. he's demonstrating different voicings and rythms of chords... which he does very nicely.

  • His way of playing is just as valid as any other. Talk of "bad fingering" is rubbish.

  • Warning to beginners: do not take advice from this man. He's not qualified to teach you. Bad fingering etc. has been noted earlier.

  • yup his right hand fingers are all messed up.

  • I'm just learning. This is GREAT. Thanks so much. Ah, the kindness of strangers.

  • there are subliminal messages in that and i not shore im gesing i don't have the soft were but i think the noise at the beging is a voice backwards saying something look out for videos like that i find them all the time on youtube

  • pretty bad fingering ! And because of your position you don't seem to be a good pianist.

  • great

  • you are using the wrong fingers

  • so what.

  • stupid question.

  • quite helpful for making songs more interesting with both hands, i do backing keyboard in a band, i often use the country western style method already.thanks posh guy!

  • Why those who must learn has a lot wants "to teach"?

  • lol

  • Techniques you learn now will allow you to write whatever you feel later. Once you've learned properly, then you can start to deviate and develop your on styles. Until then, consider proper finger positions one of the most important aspect of learning the piano.

  • finger economics are VERY important. Especially for someone just starting out. You need to develop positive playing habits now... otherwise you're setting yourself up for failure. Music is ultimately about self expression... and When you are ABLE to play anything you want, then and only then will you be able to express yourself properly, because you aren't held back by physical ability.

  • yes.. very poor fingering

  • I am very sorry to say so, but it's not important how you place your fingers, becouse its more important that you are able to play the instument.

People that are playing with fingerplacement are to my opinion to methodic players, but you have to let go of al those rules and make it yourself easy to play!

  • an incorrect fingering might work for the basics like this but without proper technique you a severely limiting yourself in the future when you may wish to play more difficult pieces/styles

  • Poor fingering! x.x

  • Bad finger positions in the right hand. Triads should be done with thumb, middle, and pinky. It does matter which finger goes where.

  • Very nice thanks !

  • From Italy..
