Scientifically it's called the Ketogenic Diet. I'm 11% body fat & want to go down to 7%. I'm on day 10 and I see my abs looking much more chizzled. I've done no exercise in the last 10 days coz I been lazy. I've cut out all sugar, potatoes, broccoli and anything originating from grain.
I plan to stay on for 30 days. When I'm off I am going to simple half the amount of carbs I used to eat & spread my food over 6 meals daily to keep my metabolism running fast.

From what I understand if I may comment is if your body does not handle carbohydrates well with regards to fat storage then the minute you go back to eating them again your body will begin to store fat again. Carbohyrdates in some people are unfortunately very fattening.
It will really stick w/u, too. The high fat diet causes sticky stools and the compromise in the fiber intake will also cause putrefaction dysbiosis and with the excess protein in the meat centered diet this will also increase colon cancer risk. Is all this for body image? There are other ways to lose weight without mortgaging long-term health.
The same high fiber diet that aids weight loss w/greater effectiveness also provides the most antioxidants
if you come off the correct way on atkins which is gradual stages then you really won't put a ton back on. If you go back to eating like a slob, then well you will.

What's so healthy about that? Sounds like just an average diet of cooked, high protein food products with minimal antioxidants, maintaining moderate risk of diseases of affluence.
Atkins, done properly as Atkins himself taught, is not a high protein diet. It is not a meat, egg and cheese diet. It is high fat, moderate protein, controlled carb. Oh man. Same thing happened to me. I lost around 85 pounds on Atkins when I went on it around 2003. Then I got a boyfriend that would always have chocolate cake around, and everyone I knew was helping me cheat on my diet. Now, I'm like 50 pounds more than when I started the diet before. I suggest guidelines of American College of Sport Medicine: 150kcal/24h spent exercising while on a isodiet(your usual menu). It's far less stressful for body, though it is slow. And by the way maybe you were a nerd(I don't know), but you're not ugly. Don't treat yourself like that!
