ive watched this kid in highschool trust me hes not gonna get ripped by batters. This is his first year in the minors give him some god damn time to develop. This kid has an amazing fastballo and when he gets his slider working its very difficult to touch him.He was a number 2 pick for a reason give him time and watch he'll be great.
Hey Buccofans, I saw a write up on your site about this outing.. It said something like 93-96 with only 32 pitches through 3 innings.. Sounds like all of these scouts on here are pretty far off.. Always work to be done, but to say he got rocked and was wild and whatnot seems pretty far off beat. Maybe you can give some insight into this outing?!
It is good to see everyone leaving comments is forgetting that taillon is only 19 and has probably three years before he will ever make it to the buccos rotation. to say he is going to get obliterated by opposing batters is absurd since he has not developed yet. im not saying he is going to be an ace, but with the stuff he has at this stage, he should be a solid pitcher in the pirates rotation
He looked sort of wild at times..and toward the end there they definately got his number...looked like 5 solidly hit balls with a few being basehits. Overall he seems like a sold pitcher, but not MLB starting rotation solid.
@lomeloft I am talking about at this current moment in time. In the future, with his build and athleticism, I have no doubt that we will be hearing about him in the future. All I'm saying is that if he works on a few things, he has potential to be great.
They better, correct that across the body arm motion due to the fact he never gets his lead foot, the left foot completely open and straight towards home plate. That puts a huge amount of stress on the shoulder and elbow. Everything else looks great. Very smooth actions.
@SgtHoagie1983 i disagree..his throwing shoulder finishes through the pitch. His slot forces him to finish that way..similar to Pedro (not quite that low)..Clemens had a little higher slot and finished down more.
